I don't like Marina, so noooo

You forgot Muffins/Plague Rats for Emilie Autumn, Ears with Feet for Tori Amous (I know she came up with it, but I hate it! So lame).... Click on Music. Some of those are even more ridiculous than the ones listed

Linkin Park's The Hunting Party. Really curious. Also, Courtney Love/Hole's new record.

LANALYSIS: Relating Songs To Known/Assumed Relationships
Lirazel replied to Sitar's topic in Lana Thoughts
Urban dictionary has this as one of many definitions of swinging: -
Oh, and here I was thinking that I'm deluded and probably the only person who sees it like this! I also thought that she's talking to herself, but more in the "paraphrasing the asshole" way. Maybe deep, deep down, she knows that he's right, but she can't change at all, so she holds on to her self-perception of a glamourous and dangerous person that not many people can handle. She sounds so jaded in that part. I would compare it to Emilie's lyrics and delivery in Gothic Lolita, where she repeats her rapists words.

I don't really like this version, but it might grow on me...
-
I like the original version more.... the radio one doesn't have the Brand New sound

I really like Distorted Lullabies record. It's so dark and full of emotions. It's a perfect winter record, I think. I can't get over Jimmy Gnecco's Brian Molko look phase. Just compare their looks ... also, the beginning also sounds sorta similar:

Yess! It's such a typical Lana song that it's not really interesting :/ Also, I'm disappointed that she doesn't sing "Black Beauty, bitches" at least once instead of "Black beauty, baby". It would fit more with how much she sings/says the phrase You know, the whole "this is for emphasis, bitches" thing.

There's nothing I hate more than internalized -isms and misogyny... I swear it's the worst thing when women want to hurt other women. I don't get how you can treat your favourite celebrity like that (or a totally hated one, but it's beyond the point).

WHAT THE FUCK. (tw: sexual violence/rape) It reminds me when Courtney Love stage dived on a Hole gig and got finger-raped by the entire audience. She jumped in a dress and returned naked to stage... Some disgusting people victim-blamed her that it was her fault for jumping in a dress... poor Courtney just wanted to have a rockstar moment a lot of guys do it and none get this treatment (luckily). Some journalist took a photo of the awful event in which she looked like she was enjoying it. That's how the song Asking for It got written.

You're right... because obviously, I had no idea that "Ella elle l'a" is not Kate Ryan's song. It's not like I listen to her music, but I know that such a song exists... I swear that Kate Ryan is exactly like one-person Cascada, but dedicated to fucking up only songs with French lyrics. From the sound of Kate Ryan's covers, I really wouldn't think that those songs have such deep lyrics... It always irks me a bit when people like shitty dance/techno covers of a genius song and don't even realize that there's another version. I know that it's not their fault, but... come on.

It's so lovely! I especially like how she put Ophelia with Dark Paradise. TIWMUG is also good. I would love to own this if it weren't so pricey.

Lana's Sassy Replies (Appreciation Thread)
Lirazel replied to lflflflflflflflflflf's topic in Lana Thoughts
Yeah, the interviewer was really awful and tactless... it was clear that Lana was kind of droping a huge-ass hint on his head with this question. Also: Let me say it: you don't fucking ask people such things, especially people you barely know! There's not enough emoticons to express my rage at the interviewer... -
This thread is proof that it's only right to cover the undies. I shiver when I think about possible psycho-stalker fans going to her gigs...

If you're a fake fan than what am I? I only own a Paradice edition of Born to Die. I'm not really interested in owning singles etc, even though I love to admire other people's collections. I reaaaally would love to own a Lana t-shirt or blouse, though.

I'm pretty sure that Trójka used to play her singles... maybe even a recent one. A year or two ago I've heard a song in French which was very similar to what Mylene does... of course I don't know the artist or title I think that might have been her too... [http://www.polskieradio.pl/9/684/Artykul/430203,W-tonacji-Trojki-1-wrzesnia-2011] Here's definite proof[/url] that sometimes you can hear Mylene on this radio station. I find it a bit sad that probably Kate Ryan's covers of Libertine and Desenchantee are more popular than Mylene's. Most people didn't even know that those are not Kate Ryan's original songs... I'm glad that I've found Mylene's they're so much better without the shitty dance beats.

Thank You SO much for shading the light on the issue! You see, somehow I've always assumed that gay men are not interested in women (even though it doesn't make sense in the context of female gay icons)... maybe because many lesbians reject men and menhood and I assumed that it's the same for gay men? I've always assumed that it's easier to identify with your own gender, but I haven't took into the account that homosexual men are much closer in social hierarchy to women than to idealized heterosexual player... (sorry if it sounds offensive, I only mean that they're minority). I found your words really fascinating (in a good way). I always want to understand the viewpoints of other people, and you helped me a little bit. -
Oh, I see! Thanks for clearing up my misunderstanding.

REALLY not judging anyone, but the price is ridiculous for 16 pages... They could have at least make it 32 or something. I will be also happy to see pictures

I've always been fascinated with female singers and actresses as gay icons. I've read articles online on the topic, but I still can't wrap my head around it. I mean, it's amazing, I just don't fully comprehend why one singer becomes a gay icon and not the other... besides, why female and not male icons? I guess I will never fully understand, no matter how much I read on it, because I'm not a male homosexual person - quite the opposite. -

I'm happy for Lana -
Dunno if it's the worst video ever, but Avril Lavigne's teenage weaboo phase comes pretty damn close.

I haven't heard about before, but she's interesting! I like Arcadia, so creepy - sorta reminds me of music from Final Fantasy VII. Need to check her record out someday...

When you really wish that someone wrote a well-researched LDR biography which would tell you all there is about her life and career
