    Mylène Farmer

OMG I'm so exited I've stumbled upon the video to "C'est une belle journée" on youtube and decided to finally give her a try (it always takes me lots of time to get into new artists). At first I didn't recognize the song at all, but when the chorus kicked in I realized that I've loved the song when it was still playing all over the radio as a single!!! Obviously I had no idea of what's the title or who's a singer, cause I've been way too young and can't speak French at all.... This song gives me such heartbreaking nostalgia, and I'm even more in love after reading the lyrics. I guess I really have to listen to Mylene It's such a shame for me that she mostly sings in French, cause it creates a barrier for me... thank God for English translations!
  2. I just ~can't~ at the toilets in the background....
  3. Oh yeah, it's even more simmilar to Cola.... to the point I always remember about one or the other. This is kinda embarassing.
  4. I see that we've got quite different taste when it comes to Lana's songs, but I have to agree with this. I don't understand why she hasn't officially recorded the more rock version of Body Electric. It would be amazing. The one on Paradise sounds just like Gods and Monsters (which I like), but more boring.
  5. I kind of like this cover, but at the same time... it's too happy I guess? The Boy George cover of Video Games has the same fault, but it's overall better (and has an amazing music video). I used to love Within Temptation, Angels is perf.
  6. Agree about the version of Yayo. About Bel Air... yes, you're right. It doesn't change the fact that I still find it musically bland, and that's why it tends to disappear from my mind. I'm not a biggest fan of Paradise, so
  7. God, you're right... Now I'm never gonna see the song in any other way.
  8. all of this. I hardly remember Bel Air is on Paradise...

    Britney Spears

I consider making my personal Britney Spears fanmix. Every record has amazing songs, but also filler...
  10. When you wish you were american just so you can connect to Lana's music more (and maybe casually stumble upon her when she's touring there ) When you suddenly enjoy pop music, even though you used to hate it When you have cravings to compulsively read every Lana interview ever!!!!1 and watch random videos of her on youtube When you research things and artists that inspire her When you suddenly get super interested in Elvis Presley (or Marilyn Monroe - but I've always loved her). When you suddenly see the appeal of Jesus as a pop cultural icon, not a religious one
  11. Oh, so it's official? It's lovely , but I don't think that it's worth the money... it's too expensive in my opinion. I mean, yeah, it's cool - but you can probably make one yours and it's not like it's Lana's private diary (now this I would buy)...

    Britney Spears

Oh cool! Gonna watch it on youtube or something Don't worry, it's not like I have expected live vocals... I've lost that hope when it comes to Britney. Does she even have any recorded gig with live records? It's such a shame that she can't/doesn't want to sing, her voice is really nice You're right - I can't believe I haven't noticed it earlier! Another thing that ties it to Lana is the music video, in which Britney has kind of a vintage diva look... God, I love this song BTW, this is gonna come out kind of weird but... has anyone read Lynne Spears' book Through the Storm? Yesterday I've been on a Britney roll and I watched some old interviews on youtube (in fact, it was the "Time out with Britney Spears" one). Some troll has commented that "why does she pretend to be so innocent when she lost her virginity as a 14 y/o". Obviously Britney stans replied to the troll, asking for source of the information... and he replied that it's been in Through the Storm book. I've read opinions on goodreads, and a lot of people said that sadly, the book lacks any shocking information... so I'm just curious if the troll made the virginity loss story. I googled around, but couldn't find any reliable sources. If Lynne Spears really wrote about this, I find it kind of shitty/creepy (even if Britney had no problem with it) I honestly believe that Britney is the only one that should tell her story...
  14. I'm obviously not an English expert, but I can agree with this interpretation! it makes the most sense.
  15. Sorry, Lana, but no stan is gonna follow this trainwreck of an advice
  16. Meh, I disagree... Angels Forever sounds at least somewhat original. It has nice ring to it.

How is The Onyx Hotel dvd called...? Sorry for being a dumbass, but I've heard that it was unreleased or something ??? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHnDbNKsCJ4 Meanwhile, I've fallen in love with this new version of Lucky. It really amps the sadness of the song. I think that it's my favourite early Britney song... it has her trademark bubblegum pop sound, but the lyrics are so depressing. I really love this kind of contrast. Wish that she had more of this type of songs...

Oooh, I see! The "fan-made" part of the description made me think that it's some ridiculous fan-made movie, or something. Thank you for all the links, gonna watch it! You reminded me that I still need to re-watch the Dream Within a Dream tour... my friend showed it to me years ago and I understood nothing, but still liked it Do other Britney DVDs also have the intense plot incorporated?
  19. Oh, so I guess I was right after all!
  20. It's one of my fave songs out of BTD for sure! Such a blast.
  21. I also saw the interview for the first time, but it's all good. I would say that she has a pretty huge fandom - of course it's hard to spot them on the streets, but there are tons of facebook pages about her for Polish fans. The most popular one (I think), Lanaism, has over 23 thousands of likes. Also, it's worth mentioning that Lana won the Diamond Record (which means that she sold over 100 thousands of Born to Die, which is quite a fit in the age of low wages and online piracy): How popular is Lana in France? I think that you've got quite a tradition of glamourous and tragic female singers, right? Like Dalida... Makes me sorry that I don't understand your language.
  22. Got it! From this Nylon interview. She said it somewhere else, but can't find the quote... I remember her saying that it was such a simple, different song that she made just for herself, to express the emotions and that it made her incredibly happy. Maybe some other forum member will be able to recognize the quote
  23. You got it kinda wrong... she actually said that she loved that song, but that it was so simple and that she made it only for herself and didn't expect it to gain mass attention, because it was so different. I'll look for the quote
  24. I loove this look of hers! It's so everyday, but she still looks like a diva....
