I don't get people's infatuation with Trash Magic. It just sounds like a weak intro/interlude type of song. The Demo version is a bit better (why did she remove those lyrics?), but still nothing to write home about.

I've been listening a lot to Nicole past two days. I'm in love with her voice and lyrics!] I think that right now my favourite record is Ode to Dawn Wiener. It's just perfect. Observatory Mansions has great songs (Nara Dreamland, Rampage, Angels of Porn), but there's something off with production that takes away from the songs. They seem to be to quiet.

I'm talking about Marina's twitter posts. I don't care enough to dig them up, but I've seen ones exactly like this "omg so awkward how to socialise". Not everyone loves Marina and I'm just as entitled to my opinion as you are. I like Britney Spears and a loooooot of people gave her worse hate in the collab thread than my opinion on Marina

I think that TIWMUG is better, but Without You would also be great. I just find WY a bit on the generic side. I love how TIWMUG tells the story of Lana's life.

Blame her tumblr fanbase treating her song lyrics as gospell and pasting them all over the site. I maybe would be okay with her, but I suffer from an acute case of hype backlash. Also, I find her twitter posts really annoying with how "relatable" she tries to be. I don't know, I'm not into artists who post about how ~awkward~ and ~antisocial~ they are(despite their career showing otherwise) and how they're obsessed over food. I don't like any of her records and I find her really overrated. Can't help it, sorry. I know she objectively is good, but personally she annoys the hell out of me.

I'll have to agree with you on DMD and MDM. I used to hate the first one (it grew on me, but is still not a favourite). MDM will forever be boring - I often forget it's on the record at all! Personally I love Dark Paradise, but I find it weird how much the lyrics changed from demo.

Yeah, their personalities and music style really don't fit. Marina is such a quirky tumblr queen (ew)* and her music is more ironic/happy-go-lucky in general. Lana is... different. *I know she's a good artist and fine person, but I just can't stand her

but... TIWMUG is necessary for BTD! Say what you want about the music, but the lyrics are iconic and they are the best ending to the record's narrative. It shows how self-aware Lana is of how destructive and unhealthy her taste in men can be.
