Anyway, haven't heard L+F in a while but despite being her worst album, I don't think Mandarina fully deserved the DRAG she was receiving then lmao. It was her first actual bad release and at least some enjoyable bops were put out
 
Ancient Dreams, on the other hand, was an absolute improvement and a great album! Of course, some lyrics are questionable but Marina isn't a flawless artist, and what I appreciated from its lyrics is that Marina showed herself once again unashamed and inhibited by her lyricism, which is something I definitely missed from ha! 

i wouldn't say it's common but it has definitely happened before and it's not that unusual - also i don't think they necessarily said that it would be released in december but that she's looking to have it finished & turned in by december

the 4 songs in a row from holy to frankenstein are my favorites!! i think the album just isnt for me -- there are a lot of indie "coming of age" movie-type songs, and they all kinda blend together in the end. by hurricanes i was quite bored with the recurring sound. wish flavor of the month was on spotify

My favorite album is III as it had a greater impact in my life when it came out (and also because of how experimental she went, wow). 
 
But I agree that The Altar is her strongest effort yet. It's alternative pop but still have a big mainstream edge that can earworm any casual pop listener. 
 
On the other side, Goddess to me is very niche, it's an album that most fans of alt pop and electronic music can enjoy. 
 
Meanwhile, Serpentina is her most mainstream album to date, it feels like it's her shot to attract new casual listeners thanks to Spotify and Apple Music playlists and algorithm. 
 
All her 4 albums are vastly different yet as a whole they carry their own personal and distinctive music sound. 

couldn’t they at least throw on an unreleased era 1 song, give it a cute title and a decent tracklist???

anyways y'all im getting kinda scared for this record  This Hell was decent for like 3 days then the lyrics were too bad for me to consciously continue streaming then Catch Me in the Air was... not good  Hold the Girl is my fav so far but even then it doesn't hold a candle to any of the just decent tracks off SAWAYAMA  LUCID really changed her didn't it  where did Dynasty into XS into STFU! into Comme de Garcons Rina goooo

First of all, this is a fricking demo, of course it's gonna sound unpolished af
 
Second, the problem with LQ snippets is, because their quality, they tend to sound louder and bouncy. Take for instance the first SL leaked snippets. I couldn't even enjoy Marina's Cause I'm a Woman since I thought it would be a bouncy ass bop, but when the track leaked I felt disappointed due to its snippets
 
Third, this version has several elements that makes it way interesting and a little bit cooler than the previously released ones, such as: the BGVs, the scrapped lyrics and the scrapped samples
