Also, not to backtrack but I wonder if she wrote the first verse & chorus of Hope in 2016/ 2017, the second in 2017/ 2018, and the third in 2018/ 2019. That would make it so much more experimental and interesting!

wasn't hope really critically acclaimed though? i feel like the only reason she would see criticism toward it was if she was combing through sites like this or something. i remember lots of positive press when it came out

i think her heart was in the right place when she wrote coachella, i just think it was uh... quite reductive and this really contrived attempt at pushing herself in a different direction. i think she was really out of her comfort zone and it just came off corny as hell

Isn't this exactly what she's doing right now? Separating the self-image and her art, I mean. She's about to release an album with emotionally heavy songs and yet she seems to be enjoying life to the fullest with her friends and doing the whole "instagram baddie" thing. 

Never in a million years did I think a fan would pray for their fave to flop. Make it make sense.

Actually, I think it would just make her think there is no interest in her anymore and she would feel even more okay with disappearing more and more.

But this is interesting. I would have expected Jack to have at least co-produced. This also makes the soundtrack vs album debate a little muddier, too.

It's not simple, it's sloppy. It would be perfect if it was cleaner, with someone better playing the piano. That's all it would take for me to be happy with it. No strings, no beats, no nothing. remember when i was crazy for saying this back in february

i could be wrong but i feel like hardcore lana fans (say this loosely now lol) are feeling this intense disappointment at her laziness and want to punch her whereas normies who have never been stans probably just think the delay is creating excitement and anticipation... and that could be why it sells a truckload and does really well
