  1. Kinda like how "racism" has always meant only systemic rac... er, prejudice. inb4 @ chastises me for trying to (hu)mansplain to her (technically a bitch) the definition of the word "bitch".
  2. Noteworthy. Illustrative. And yes, even a little surprising that it's that bad.
  3. That's a fair point as far as it goes, but the highest ranked African American was only #30. And there didn't appear to be a whole lot of diversity on that list period.
  4. Anybody else notice that the Top 10 is entirely white and male? Or that there are only 15 women and 10 black people on the whole fucking list? Which is even worse than it sounds considering some people share their spot on the list with other people (i.e. there's more than 100 people and still only 15 women and 10 black people).

Why is my opinion specifically being solicited about this particular artist?
  6. Olympic gold medalist decathlete Bruce Jenner's transition from male to female has got nothing on yours from feline to canine.
  7. And likely neither does anybody else. The three you listed are the only ones we have evidence for.
  8. This has been asked and answered numerous time ( ) but here it is again:
  9. Why am I not surprised @@Trash Magic started this thread?

    Bentley

It's not so much a stutter as her saying the same thing intentionally out of synch in two different vocal harmonies. Also, I love how the second time she says "Sun reflecting in his eyes" in one harmony and "Death reflecting in his eyes" in the other. Anyone still want to try to tell me she's not fixated on death? Yes, "Bentley" is yet another example of a specific type of death that is prevalent enough in her work to be discussed as a recurring theme separate from the theme of death generally-- death by drowning, or at least the association of death and water.
  11. Lana complaining about her tour manager's advice to use the bathroom before going on stage?
  12. Mmm.... Why you make me work so hard To put on that evening show When you know that all I want Is to make your money grow? You're like a baby who don't got nowhere to go I feel you eyeing me, you keep it on the low (on the low, on the low) But I can't let you in And I can't keep you out I wait for life to [win/mend/end?] But it never comes around And I can't hear you call And I can't hear me [shout?] I wait for it to break But it never comes around And I'm lonely I'm lonely I'm lonely Why you make me take that shit To put on that evening show When you know I don't need it Better than your booze and blow? You're like a baby, don't know better, you don't know You drag me down, you try to keep it on the low But I can't let you in And I can't keep you out I wait for life to [win/mend/end?] But it never comes around And I can't hear you call And I can't hear me [shout?] I wait for it to break But it never comes around (Scatting) Feel like I'm falling apart (Scatting) Feel like I'm falling apart (Scatting) Feel like I'm falling apart Would you tell me? Would you tell me? Would you tell me? But I can't let you in And I can't keep you out I wait for life to [win/mend/end?] But it never comes around And I can't hear you call And I can't hear me [shout?] I wait for it to break But it never comes around And I'm lonely I'm lonely I'm lonely

Was hoping she rapped in an exaggerated Australian accent.
  14. Ha, you just know a thread has descended into petty arguments and drama when @@Viva starts cheering it on and getting off to it.
  15. Petition to rename the forum Stan Vomit. Whether or not this thread specifically suffers from these symptoms, I think this is an accurate diagnosis of the forum generally, and has been for some time. And the prognosis only seems to be getting worse.
  16. Given it's Lana, Honeymoon makes me think of the literal punchlines from The Honeymooners: "One of these days, one of these days... POW! Right in the kisser!" "Bang! Zoom! To the moon, Alice!" #HeHitMeAndItFeltLikeAKiss

Maybe because I believe all people should be treated equally? Why should the fact that I'm a straight white male disqualify me from being a mod? Or from calling someone out for saying really odious things? Actually, this is exactly the opposite of what I said. I said that if someone was saying the kind of stuff you're saying to someone other than me, I would consider disciplining them for it. But since it's me you're doing it to, I will avoid doing that if at all possible. I avoid using my mod powers in disputes I'm involved with unless the other person gets really out of hand. Otherwise it just wouldn't seem like a fair fight to me. But don't stop. Keep it up. You're making some of my points for me.
