Cannot wait for new music. Plastic Beach is a beautiful piece of genius.

Fun story: I married the girl who does the voice of Noodle when I was living in London in my early 20s, to help her get a UK passport! We met working in a restaurant. So Gorillaz will always be special to me.

Nah it's true! She was just starting to work with them on the first album/promo stuff when I met her. I loved Blur so I was super excited. I was also poor and needed a place to crash so it was a mutually beneficial thing. Quite funny in retrospect, having to pretend to be in love for the ceremony
But she wasn't the singer for Noodle, she was just the voice in interviews and stuff. Don't think she made it onto any of the records (so maybe a slightly less epic story lol)

Show this to the twinks on here who demand for her to do over the top promo. I said it before, I'll say it again: She doesn't want that kinda life anymore. Just accept that. I support Lana and how she wants to handle her career.

I compiled some comments Lana has made about her career in interviews from all stages, so that when people start whining about what they want out of her career they can remind themselves about what she wants

y'all: wow can't believe Lana did a small show for a festival where she performed most of her well known songs along with her current single. how could she betray me like this?? I'm unstanning!

why do so many people feel the need to come on here to bash Lana? I understand the frustration with the lack of promo because that's part of the era that we end up missing out on, but you will always be able to find someone more successful than she is, no matter what she does. She is not the person you stan to get really elaborate promotion, you stan her for beautiful music. That's what she cares about, and just because not everyone understands or enjoys it that does not take away from what it is. There is true garbage out there that ends up chart topping. I will take the good music and everything she gives us because she has such a unique vision. And if you don't like what she's doing you don't have to be on here and you don't have to listen to it.

out of curiosity, do you unironically believe that music is automatically good just because it sells more?

Best American Record would be my favorite LDR album title.

I actually didn't realise it was a lyric change as that was my first exposure to the song! But after I'd seen the music vid I went back & watched again and was SO impressed with what they did. Amazing band. And I just love the lead singer's curious enunciation of words.

It's depressing see you talking for hours only about sales, when the only important thing, especially for an artist like Lana, is the quality of music. I really hope Lana continues to think only about making good music and to express herself, not caring to please this or that, like any truly great artist does. That said, if I had to think of a duet, I think of artists like P.J. Harvey, Kate Bush, Cat Power ... I hope that we should always keep away from the empty and sterile pop that is rampant in the charts and radio.

Personally, I love that Lana is fostering a small but fiercely loyal fanbase. The Lana I fell in love with - the girl in the Ride video, the inscrutable and enigmatic Lana of Born to Die - is not a 'Top 40' artist, who plays stupid games with Jimmy Fallon and pimps herself out of her comfort zone for a cheque. She's private, and sincere, and complex. I love that she is somewhat under the radar, that she seems to have found comfort in directly addressing us via social media, that she's crafting not only her art, but the way she communicates with the world, on her terms.
Tbh I like where she is at the moment. I admire her resistance to the things that are apparently how one is 'meant' to be a pop star these days. She has integrity. And she appears pretty happy with her choices.

    Just my opinion.

I love Love. When I listen to it, I feel connected to something bigger than myself. Lana is giving people a chance to look beyond the surface, and I am so happy for the love I feel because of her

She is so different, and I am thrilled to see what's to come. One of the few big artists of today that has depth

buying her shit doesn't mean she suddenly owes you more shit... you buy a sandwich at the deli and expect them to start bringing in ur fav sandwich recipes or something? to start advertisiting more around town cause you want everyone to know how good their sandwiches are? wyd... edited for unnecessary cattiness
