  1. Saw Lana in Sydney yesterday and she started talking about her time living between North Burgen, New Jersey and New York and how she was dating Rob at the time and how he was known as the craziest one. He got a dragon tattoo on his back one day which inspired Yayo : https://twitter.com/bereavedbyyou/status/980783173264072705
  2. It was weird seeing her walk out on stage. Like Lana was only either been someone in my head/ears or someone on screen and finally seeing her in person was really surreal (and kind of disorientating) . The dress and long ponytail was much better in person and Lana was taller than I expected. The show itself was kind of perfect. I still don’t know what the dancers added but I guess they’re there and they’re fine. She didn’t perform any songs from Honeymoon, not even MTWBT even though there was this one guy who kept shouting Honeymoon when she asked which song she should perform. We love that man of taste . That was kind of hilarious. Seriously though, the doors opened one hour later than stated so I don’t why security thought it was necessary to make us all stand up and squeeze together. I’m not surprised people fainted and vomited. It was hell waiting in the heat and I think the way the handled it surely was not OH&S compliant even though the security guy kept talking about how his job was to keep us ‘safe’ (and kept repeating how any one with a seated ticket does not belong in the line) . The crowd is general wasn’t as bad as expected (they were quite chilled for a Lana event) particularly compared to what I’ve heard online. I’m def stuck in my bubble but I was struck at how mainstream and GP-friendly Lana has become. It should be obvious but it’s only in scenarios like this you realise it’s not 2011 anymore . Also I was surprised how young the crowd was. There were some 20 year olds but it was mostly packed with teenagers. I guess all the older ones were in the seats . Here’s the part of Lana talking about Cat Power (Borns was cute but Grimes, Courtney or Chan probably would’ve kept my interest ): https://twitter.com/bereavedbyyou/status/980820784728780801
  3. Just got here. The line already has a couple of hundred and its like hot. If you want me to save you a spot just DM.
  4. Sorry to be basic but does any one know which app gives the filter in the second last video (one with Cherry playing in the background).
  5. Was listening to the second half of Honeymoon and it just reminded of Elio's arc throughout the whole movie. Ever one of those songs - Burnt Norton, Religion, Salvatore, The Blackest Day, 24, Swan Song and DLMBMU - actually felt like it could be written from Elio's perspective. So I've come to the same conclusion that Lana and Elio are the same character. I don't think it's a coincidence they both love ruining peaches . The movie deserves all the hype. Elio's scene with his father at the end honestly broke me. The worst part is waiting for the book to be delivered.
  6. The second half of LFL is superior to the first half. It's more interesting lyrically and sonically. I'm glad Lana went political b/c while songs like White Mustang are cute, it's a bit dull relative to her overall discography. I wished the production on some of the songs were more 'acoustic' or 'folky'. A lot of it was unnecessarily messy and some of the drum machines just sound downright generic/bad (but maybe b/c it's in 128kbps). Based on initial impressions, I still like UV & HM better tho .
  7. I really don't think we should consider G&R a UV album track since Lana explicitly stated UV starts at Cruel World and ends at TOW. The only reasons we have those tracks is because Lana implied the label forced her to release deluxe versions (though she eventually won with HM & LFL).
  8. Not as excited for the first half (except for Love) since the melodies, subject matter and lyrics are what we've all heard before from her past work. However the second half of the album... I'm still sad the Shangri-La girl group influences went away. The opening 30 seconds of Lust for Life was the only good thing about that song . Still holding out hope though that LDR6 finally brings back the live drums & narco swing backdropping Lana's newfound witchy lust for a full-automated luxury gay space communism that abolishes all forms of capitalist paid work & an equal distribution of leisure time and socially necessary unpaid labour responsibilities across all genders, class and race .
  9. 71. Love and the last 7 tracks (judging by the snippets) will save it from going into the 60s.
  10. Finally listened to Summer Bummer & Groupie Love . I'm okay with Summer Bummer but I do like Groupie Love. However like the title track LFL these songs have little replay value. The shelf lives of these songs are going to age like a carton of milk. In 5 years time we'll all still be talking about BTD, West Coast, UV and some HM songs. None of us however will remember the LFL tracks fondly (or even at all).
  11. That is Queen Jodi, the paparazzi Lana bought a necklace for (go to 0:30 in the video) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdBeO3fGyAQ
  12. I'm praying Summer Bummer is "sonically" familiar to Love and Lust For A Pop Hit That Never Came. If Summer Bummer sounds completely different this album really will be an incohesive mess .
  13. have you met graham yet? i think you guys will get along.
  14. more songs & collabs... yikes. lana clearly has no direction or cohesive vision for lust for life. it feels like a bunch of random songs put together. by trying to please us and create an album just for the fans, she's lost who she is.
