But I LOVE triphop lana. I hope there is at  least a nod to it in the production of UV. The beats were what got me on the first listen.. eager for a new sound nonetheless. The acapella of WC sounds promising, but it's way too soon to tell really. Wish people would just chill.. we should be uniting!

Okay let's everybody stop arguing on who became a fan when and who likes what kind of music she's made, because nobody really cares. People don't have to like everything Lana made. Just because you don't like something somebody else does doesn't mean that you can talk down to them, and just because you like something someone else doesn't doesn't mean that you need to be rude.

The point of this thread is about West Coast. West Coast has nothing to do with Sirens, AKA, BTD or Paradise. It has to do with Ultraviolence.
Focus on that.

I find it interesting how some people are already tired of some of Lana's most signature tunes.  One thing I noticed, at least when I listen to her music, is that it helps to be in the right frame of mind. Her music is very cerebral and nothing sounds like it. I don't worship any pop stars but I give credit where it's due and Lana deserves it. She writes amazing music even if some of the same lyrics and ideas show up in multiple songs. Look at Stevie Nicks' songwriting for example, there are constant themes all through her music and it helped her develope her own sound. Lana is doing the same thing, and I hope continues developing her craft. I was listening to Born to Die and Paradise while drivng through the countryside for work today. It was a beautiful Spring day and Lana made it even more wonderful. I still don't think she gets the credit she is due even from some of her "fans." If Lana puts out shit music I will call her on it, but so far I have yet to be disappointed. When the single drops we will all be able to have our say.

Thank God, I hate enough of her material likle Sirens entirely, most of AKA and some fan favourites like Carmen and Million Dollar Man.
 
If she gave me another Video Games, I would be more than thrilled. And lyrically I really don't know what people are expecting. She is a popwriter. You can have your Sylvia Plath lessons in school.

Just because the album is dark doesnt mean everything will look and sound like a vampire movie. The album has been described as dark and beautiful not dark and scary. That doesnt mean every song will have the sane tone.

I'm confused as to which visual direction she's going for in this era. The title "Ultraviolence" screams dark, harsh colors like the black and red on the billboards but then for the West Coast images she chooses to do baby blue and yellow? I don't really get it 

This is getting annoying... She should drop the damn thing or shut the fuck up, the wait is eternal 

The cover shoot makes me think that THIS is the song I'll be all dark and sultry to throughout the summer.
