I honestly tried to pin point something specific that resonated with me the most in your comment, but everything on here is valid af. The Lana most of us knew and fell in love with peaked at Honeymoon. Everything after that has been for the most part half-assed, generic and especially low effort (even by her so called standards). I honestly hope she pulls something great and Lana-esque on COCC. I'm honestly genuinely excited for this upcoming album, but judging by Lana's track record (and also current collaborator) I feel like it's foreshadowing yet again a lazy, flat, self-important, pseudo-introspective and beige album. I can't stand when fans try to make sense of this laziness by saying that she matured and that things sound the way she wanted them to. Like, it's great that she matured and doesn't feel like exploring similar themes lyrically. However, if that's how she really wanted her music to sound like, it honestly sucks for her because this is genuinely uninteresting and subpar for the most part, very middle-of-the-road. Anyway. On that note: Femme fatale/rock-y/mysterious songstress Lana >>>>>>>> Vagabond poet from the Canyon/Soccer mom/Instabaddie addicted to matcha tea Lana

A cinematic masterpiece. -
they were def acquaintances and had a mutual respect/appreciation for each other professionally speaking
-
I honestly feel like there were text messages/DMs being exchanged and their relationship went awry But I don't think Lana much cares about her birthday at this particular point
-
she's @skirtsandsuits on Insta. Idk her full name though.

Yeah feed us, ma. Her ability to post in bulk will never cease to amaze me. Also RIP Skirtsandsluts.

How dare anyone be rude to @ArtDecoDelRey... chile. People being rude to me, I get it I run my mouth a lot on here especially when it comes down to music and production. But there's literally nothing going on and very little information about this album, like of course this thread is going to look like a joke. It's all tongue-in-cheek until we actually get something legit to talk about.

I don't care too much for the record as a whole, but 'Bartender' is pretty good imho. But agree about 'TNBAR', either keep the original lyrics to fit in with the theming of 'NFR!' with the bullshit/cocky artist narrative she pushed in the title track, or let it be an unreleased fan favourite. But she did this song dirty on 'NFR!'.

I was gonna say the same honestly. Like 'Honeymoon' is clearly a long record, but somehow it doesn't feel that way and it flows really well. 'Lust for Life' sill feels more like a mixtape rather than an album, and 'NFR' while sonically the album is actually pretty cohesive, songs like 'Doin' Time', 'Cinnamon Girl', 'How to disappear', 'TNBAR' and 'hope' feel out of place, maybe the order of the songs themselves just doesn't contribute here, but still. I hope there's an interlude on COCC to make the whole thing feel less overlong.

I feel the exact same way, I feel lucky to have seen her in her prime live. I feel like she peaked in 2015 as far as vocal delivery goes and it's been kinda downhill from that point. There have been good performances ever since, but there are times it's almost cringy and awkward how little she tries and how bad she sounds. Or her still relying on that ever loud back track.

Montreal, CAN @ Osheaga Festival - July 30th, 20116

Reviving an old thread to share, yet again, some old crappy pictures I took with my old phone from a concert. -
1. 'Ultraviolence' and 'Honeymoon' 2. 'Born To Die' 3. 'Paradise' 4. 'Norman Fucking Rockwell!' 5. 'Lust for Life'

'Get Free' as always been (and will probably forever be) the only song I truly care for on 'Lust for Life'. I know it gets slandered in an out of the Lana fandom, but to me it's quintessential weird Lana and I live for it. I also think that '13 Beaches' and 'Heroine' are overrated. I honestly don't get the appeal with them, maybe a little on 'Heroine', but '13 Beaches' doesn't sound melodic in the slightest to my ears, never cared for it.

This breaks will forever break my heart. "je devrais me faire une raison, essayer de l'oublier [...] même si je sais qu'il ne m'aimera jamais..."
