I can't narrow it down to one, but in Radio when she sings:

"No one even knows how hard life was-
I don't even think about it now, because...
    I finally found you."

These lyrics are beautifully simple and the delivery kills me every time
I really admire that even just with her voice, Lana managed to create such an atmospheric song.

"I’m one of the very few who kept his picture up.  I’m the only one of his women that stayed his woman [in the way that I did it].  For the past 40 years, I became an Aquarian nun; I haven’t been with any other man–that means I’ve been celibate.  And in great joy, and it was my choice; it wasn’t hard.  It’s just, I was still connected with him.  I have been working with him."

"We had a very strong understanding, and he had me by the nape of the neck and I knew I wasn't done. I remained his wife, and I became, it wasn't on purpose – but I became what they call, an Aquarian nun."

Fleetwood Mac's Dreams... I could see Lana channeling her inner Stevie for this one!

Am I the only one who doesn't think this song is about Azealia? The reasons I read seemed to be a huge reach.

I don't know exactly either, but it seems to me that Lana's art is a sign of a wider phenomenon - of an emerging spiritual awareness in our society.

I am trying not to say too much until the album drops, but ...

Honestly the figure she always seemed most similar to is David Bowie -- while today he is canonized, back in the 70's he was often criticized as being a hollow, cynical manipulator of his own image, appropriating the styles of his avant-garde contemporaries to push a mainstream product (and still today; just read Scaruffi's writeup, and compare it to what he said about the Doors -- he liked Ultraviolence, ironically!). This was unfounded, I think, but his analytical approach to creativity was always in stark contrast to cohorts like Lou Reed and Iggy Pop, who seemed to be more like forces of nature than anything else -- and the same could be said for Jim Morrison.

So, what is true poetry? I must refer to this telling passage by Robert Graves -- http://www.dhushara.com/book/diana/diana.htm

But Graves went further and said that for the female artist, she must BE the White Goddess -- http://magmapoetry.com/archive/magma-37-2/articles/the-female-poet-and-the-male-muse/
By this definition, Lana is a true poet.

"Bob" is obviously Bob Leone. "Lorraine" is almost certainly Lorraine Ferro, who worked with Bob for the Songwriter's Hall of Fame (SHOF) at that time. It's true Bob was divorced five times and "surrounded himself with girl singer-songwriters" (usually much younger) both personally and professionally. Lizzy and Brea played at the same SHOF Showcase in 2006. Here is a photo from that event. They are at opposite ends of the front row:

In the "Info and Links" section of the thread for that show you can see more information detailing Lizzy, Brea, and Bob's relationships to each other. Some of the links no longer work, but there are still screenshots of everything listed there in the Imgur album for that show.

I feel like the themes are more mature and everything, and more cohesive(which i do really enjoy) but more repetitive and less diverse. there is a complexity missing. most of the songs on born to die had 2-3 demos or w/e. where she would add bridges, delete bridges, change lyrics, change tempos, instruments, until she had a solid album of material. she took a few more years on those demos and songs and really worked them to their full potential(dark paradise has like 2 crazy different demos, that live version with a weird prechorus, and then the final clean version, we see her layers of work) where honeymoon was probably written in about a year, MAYBE one demo per song. it kinda shows she didnt take the time to really edit lyrics or tempo or instruments and stuff. there are a bunch of songs on honeymoon that are so beautiful but could be beefed up for sure. I feel the same way about UV. She also keeps rhyming you and blue and choose and stuff which kinda annoys me. But I do appreciate how mature her sound has gotten, she just needs to beef a few things up, then pause and edit, then beef it up again.

You're right. I kinda miss the "glamour and epicness" from her work, I think it was an important element which sets a certain part of her discography apart and makes it that much more special.

HM obviously doesn't have that but I'm not gonna complain about that, it's just good in a different way

And I have a new favorite song! I've spent a lot of time living by Waimea Bay, so I'm stoked about this one I wish Lana would have explored her Hawaiian Surf Noir a bit more. This is divine!!

Edit: And now that I've listened to it a couple more times, I get a very distinct Hope Sandoval vibe from the song. LOOOVE!

Wow. I'm completely blown away by this track. This is by far my favourite out of the batch of new leaks, and I see everyone else obsessing over it as well. It's this perfect bake of Bentley mixed together with Wait For Life topped with a bit of Kill Kill and just a dash of something à la The Man I Love. It has me completely hooked. Of course, it's already jumped heaps and bounds in my favourites list and I am so thankful to hear this track I didn't even know existed until a few hours ago. I've said it one too many times and I don't mind saying it again - I LOVE JAZZY LANA. This track really amplifies that, especially in the verses. The whole sound this song embodies is so obviously Lizzy with her "Hawaiian Surf Noir." As I've seen someone else comment, if this track was cleaned up a bit, it could most definitely fit in perfectly in Lana Del Ray AKA Lizzy Grant. Without a doubt. I don't have enough great things to say about this track. With it's Hawaiian-Jazz flare, it's painfully addictive. And I'm loving every second of it.

Also, a bit of an imaginative reach - perhaps Lana Del Ray came from whoever "Ray" is. Maybe she handpicked Lana first and then chose Del Ray later, with this person in mind. It hasn't been the first we've heard of a "Ray." I say this because someone very dear to me by the name of Hannah gave me a necklace with her name on it, and after she was no longer in my life after a drastic event, I would wear the necklace and when people asked if my name was Hannah, I would reply with a simple yes. I would also introduce myself as such. I did that for a little while until I realized how the time was passing and how I needed to detach myself and move on lol. Maybe this person is someone Lana just can't move on from.. "Even though you're not here, won't move on..."
Or perhaps "Lana & Ray" is referring to just herself, becoming Lana Del Ray in the name's early stage. Or maybe it started out as just Lana Ray, which was also mention in Trash Magic.. "Lana Ray, will you serve me lemonade?"
Or perhaps I'm just overthinking this whole thing and whoever Ray is had nothing to do with her name and I should stop letting my mind come up with crazy ideas.

    Anyways.

One last addition before I stop rambling about this track, I can't quite decipher what comes after the "we were living on côtes de l'île" bit, but after what sounds to be "low cal" she makes a sound similar to the last two syllables in Chevrolet (chev/vrolet). So maybe she's saying "low-cal" and then whatever a "vrolet" is. Perhaps some sort of French food (??) or maybe the whole bit is French since she seems to be sprinkling it in here and there in this track. Also, perhaps the "low-cal" could be "local" and then whatever that last bit is supposed to be.
Or maybe Lana just made it up. You know how she can be.
