  1. SoftcoreBabyface liked a post in a topic by fruitpunchlips in Paradise and Born to Die Sister Songs
I think she intended that since she's said that Paradise would be like an afterword.

Here's how I looked at it:

    Ride - Born to Die
"Don't break me down... etc" and "Don't make me sad...." She's singing about roads and journeys in both.

American - Off to the races, Blue jeans, Video Games
Both describe a casual but slightly disfunctional (drugs etc) relationship. In VG she sings "Swinging in the backyard", in A "play house", evoking images of youth/childhood.

    Cola - Diet Mtn Dew
I always thought this was really obvious because they're both named after sodas? I think she's comparing Barry to her ex. In a demo version of Diet Mtn Dew she sings "beat me and tell me you're mine..." and in Cola she sings "Don't treat me rough...". Again she talks about taking a ride.

    Body Electric - Summertime Sadness
In both of them she sings about feeling electric, pale moonlight and ~droppin it like it's hot~

    Blue Velvet - ?
It might have something to do with Blue Jeans, they have similar titles and in BV she sings "and I still can see the velvet through my tears", in BJ "baby can you see through the tears". I always saw BV as a filler since it's a cover so I haven't paid attention to it.

    Gods & Monsters - Carmen
I think she's giving a different perspective of her life before she went sober.

    Yayo - ?
    I have no idea..

    Bel Air - Dark Paradise
I think she sees L.A. as a paradise and she's just describing what she sees when she "closes her eyes"

This account followed me on Twitter this morning. They tweet things like Lana used to tweet on her MissDaytona account. They're pretty hilarious
  4. SoftcoreBabyface liked a post in a topic by DanCastro in Let's analyse Lana's tweets.
I was going trough MissDaytona yesterday, like I always do when I feel the need to feel closer to Lana.

I really do think she craved for fame back then, but as soon as she started getting it, she got scared and realized it wasn't all she
dreamed of (Ride monologue kinda talks about this)

Some of my favorites tweets from that account are:
    - Left your town to reach a shore that you dreamed of. that shore dreamt of you too with its caffeinated lipstick, cherry flavored cigarettes (this is so her  )
    - sing to me something blue. i want to be made to feel sad by you
and all the others you guys mentioned..

Reading this I can't help to fall in love with her all over again and wish I had a time machine to go back to 2009 and see it all happen and be her bugga baby

I don't know if this has already been mentioned but she tweeted "Miss you. Dope in the face." Is this not lyrics from Stoplight... sorta?

  9. SoftcoreBabyface liked a post in a topic by Sitar in Have you checked out Lana's official store?
I doubt she has much input on her merchandise. I once saw a paparazzi video where someone was trying to her to sign a Ride 7" vinyl with the flag picture and she was like, "I didn't know they made this!"

Meh, Elvis's entire career was cultural appropriation.
  11. SoftcoreBabyface liked a post in a topic by TrailerParkDarling in Priscilla Presley
I'm pretty certain Priscilla had something done, even then. She did a lot of things to appease Elvis, he wanted her to look a certain way. I think they look similar, but mostly cause the makeup and the look is very attainable, if you are good w/ liquid liner    (Really, I think Marina could look like Priscilla cause her face is fuller, if she didn't have such bad makeup)

It's funny how she seems to try to resemble Priscilla, even wearing her name on her shirt in those candids of her outside the studio.

    Priscilla liked motorcycles, too
  12. SoftcoreBabyface liked a post in a topic by Tammy in What should Lana's fans be called?
No context; she sang her songs, the fans sang along, and she said 'My Little Carmens' to the female fans.
  13. SoftcoreBabyface liked a post in a topic by Tammy in What should Lana's fans be called?
During the concert I attended Lana called those in the 1st row her 'Little Carmen(s)'.

    NOW YOU KNOW!!!

I've tried to write a serious message about Lana's boobies but I miserably failed... Thank you for making this thread

Don't want a BTD 2.0. That would be ridiculous and personally I don't think she'd go there.

When I first heard about Honeymoon earlier today, I immediately thought about how she changed her Insta-pic to Lizzy and Chuck posted a Lizzy pic too. I thought of Surf Noir Lizzy Grant in a cheap hotel on the Las Vegas Strip with her heroin fiend boyfriend. Lana's a little twisted, and her idea of a Honeymoon came to my mind as a drug-filled fuck fest...

    That's all

I'm REALLY excited. But... I REALLY hope 'I Can Fly' (which is great for a soundtrack, but wouldn't compare to most of Lana's discography) is not any indication of the rest of the album. Oh well, like I've said before Lana has consistently managed to impress me against the odds so I have faith she'll do the same here. But seriously Lana if you don't go through with that Giorgo Moroder collab you were hinting at I might just unstan for real...

ANYWAY... I'm actually on the verge of tears at the thought of Lana covering that beauty of a song. That kind of hate-baiting humour is exactly what critics loved about UV so I'm glad she hasn't completely abandoned the lessons she learnt from this era (although it is weird how quickly she moved on from my fav ever album, I guess it was a smart move commercially because now she gets to release beautiful alternative records like UV then satisfy her label woth a good chart topping summer record soon after! Maybe she'll follow Kanye's footsteps and produce one traditional album, then one experimental album (808's HEARTBREAK) then another traditional (MBDTF) then another experimental (YEEZUS) etc.)

Sorry for this long ass post, you can expect a lot of them from now on (as well as the arrival of several newbie's and people that left when UV came out who will now return because our girl is revisiting BTD-ish territorry.)

Speaking of which... Mariah stan this must be your dream come true! Maybe a bit less of the whinning this era. That sound reasonable?

I really loved when she did that too! So cute

"I just thought it was so sad, that God had found someone so perfect for me and that then we really couldn't be together" - It broke my heart when she said that I'll never forget it

And I really love the line "Fooling everyone, telling them she's having fun", probably just because I can relate to it so much,
