    Ummm....

There's a way to smack down problematic comments without escalating things. These were not it.

Watch the name-calling and keep it civil or I'm gonna start giving warning points like a child molester hands out candy.

Honestly, I think burqa bans are extremely illiberal and an unacceptable violation of freedom of expression, not to mention discriminatory. Hell, if I lived in France I'd wear a burqa just to make a point, and I'm an agnostic cisgender hetero white guy.

Reminds me of this at 1:07:

Yes, but also start trying to put yourself in the shoes of others and try to understand why they might see something as racist.

They were really snide about the Middle East comment. You could tell Lana really liked the idea of going to Qatar and Kuwait and they they just sneered at her. "Do you have a lot of fans there" -- how rude!!

I kind of got the vibe they were thinking she was really self confident and almost laughing at the fact that she has fans in the middle east...

Yessss amazing interview thank you for sharing!!! Digging these new questions! Also if the interview was Thursday/Friday in Paris, I'm sure the video is coming this week not next week, especially if she's teasing it

And omg she's talking about back-up singers on tour??? That's a HUGE difference with the previous tours I'm very surprised and curious to see how it's going to happen

Lana Del Rey called into Veronica and Lewis from Paris to talk about creating her new album 'Honeymoon', working with Rick Nowels, the definition of a "vibe" record and whether she'll be coming back to Australia any time soon.

Virgin Radio trolled us. It was just a messy interview with the same questions and they played Summertime Sadness Radio Mix, Ultraviolence, High By The Beach, the old live performance of Video Games at David Letterman Late Night Show and Music To Watch Boys To. Terrence Loves You was intended to be produced by Mark Ronson

Gosh... That was an interesting read but... At first, the "I suck" theme was funny and endearing, but man it quickly got tiring as hell !

I've always wanted the full video of that interview

Maybe we can ask her for the full video. Or more things she remembers from it.

I agree this article seems more a way for the author to validate her own life choices than anything particularly revealing about Lana. I would have liked to know more about "the scene." And it seems even more likely now that Stefani and Lizzy may have met. Very interesting.

I kind of want to resurrect my music just because this author spent so much time complaining about theirs.

I think the first verse is:
    Queen of the downtown scene
    Prowling around at night
    You're not mean
You're just born to be seen
    Born to be wild

Well I think I'm stating the obvious here, but I remember a discussion on the HM Pre-Release thread about the denotation of "Art Deco". At first, I thought calling a song Art Deco and refering to someone as it is quite tacky, but I've really come to like it and I think it's pretty clever now.

For me, "Art Deco" is a Carmen 2.0, so the person refered to in the song is Carmen. There was this discussion if calling someone Art Deco is negative or postive, but I definitely think it has a strong negative connotation. Art Deco was an art style in the 20s purely for decorative reasons, as the name already suggests, and it was soley used on furniture, wallpapers etc, so it's not an independet art style, like e.g. Art Nouveau, but it is dependent on its placement and the particular time period of the 20s. It was not only supposed to reflect the zeitgeist of the time, but it was the "Golden Twenties". Everyone wanted to dive into the wealth and jazz and party of the time, and Art Deco was to reflect this.

Soooo... in my opinion, calling her Art Deco in the song means that she is exactly this: a decorative object without its own "artistic" stand-alone value. She just exists to be beautiful, ever on the hunt for wealth and beauty (accompanying ruthlessness and decandence). As Lana says in her song, the addressee "wants in" but she "just can't win." Like Art Deco. Very clever in my eyes.

I've been listening and I definitely hear:

    Shining like gun metal
    Cold and unsure

    As opposed to:

    Shining like a medal
    Gold on the shore

I've tried both while listening and it just really sounds like "gun metal" and "cold and unsure"

I think instead of "shining like a medal" it's "shining like gun metal", that's what I hear
