roar is still one of the ugliest pop tracks I've ever heard in my life cannot believe it's got the most views out of all of her songs like wtf is wrong with people
-
this motherfucker was more positive about albums like poppy.computer and witness than he is about UV (he rated it a 2) I can agree that Lana's music isn't for everyone but......really?
-
very afraid that this is happening to my favorite group right now. In a time where kpop is making it big with groups like bts, blackpink, and twice, SM should be promoting them even more, and even though a few members are enlisting, they can still make it work if they try. At this rate I'm lucky if they even make a comeback at all this year and SM doesn't pull a GG and make fans wait 2 years for an extremely sub-par comeback.
-
cannot stand when people say they think LFL is her best album because her music "matured" like bitch her music matured with UV and HM y'all just didn't like her persona
-
I am not that excited about the music from NFR. The songs are okay, but they are overall lackluster and don't have what made Lana's music special to me.

SM has put out the best groups with the most interesting concepts. If only they'd be consistent with it. Don't know how it even remotely makes sense to just randomly give up on groups that are very popular and stop promoting them (just look at what happened to GG ugh). It's like every group takes turns being interesting and than end up doomed making mediocre music. SM then becomes more concerned with promoting solo careers from some of the members of those groups, some of which nobody asked for. Kpop solo acts will never be at the same level as group acts smh.

where's the marina collab though.... -
how do you post videos and emoticons on your status updates?

this new merch is everything. marina has my EH hoe ass shook

1. BTD/UV 2. Honeymoon 3. Paradise 4. Lust for life can't choose between Born to die and Ultraviolence because born to die has all the bops and is more playful, but ultraviolence has that heavenly, dreamy, and overall more refined sound.

hope she's ok and that she's no longer being harassed and abused.

better than BTD, HM, and UV??? don't think so... -
Black beauty is overrated
-
the fact that Serial killer isn't a bonus track on BTD is baffling to me. It is better than all three bonus tracks tbh... In truth, none of these artists are even remotely similar to Lana other than the fact that they are in the same "sub-genre" (alt pop, which covers so many different sounds), have overlapping fanbases, and in some cases share similar aesthetics. I always thought she was way more similar to the neighbourhood (at least in the BTD era).

Mel's early acoustic songs were dark AF I mean......a song about a child being sold into prostitution.......DAMN

There's so many I couldn't write them all down on here my favorite line of hers in GMTM is "like two dumb dogs walking in circles, got a feeling was I just chasing the wrong tail, well it's better having your head stuck up your ass you can't fail". so clever omg Everything about the family jewels is amazing. The quirkyness, the experimental production , the interesting way in which she played around with narrative, the satire, the angst, the energy, and most importantly the fact that she sang about mental health before it was accepted and even praised. also....CUCKOO EH is super iconic. I love the sarcastic cheering ("feeling super super super") in Teen Idle, the line "got bubble wrap around my heart" in Living dead, the robotic voice used in Homewrecker, the emotional delivery of the lyrics, and the cynical approach to love throughout the album in an industry full of sugary love songs. Instead of writing your typical break-up song, Marina took her heartbreak and used it to make and full on anti-love album. What I also love are the EH pictures with the quotable lines that were on her website. When I go back to them I realize just how clever, witty, and sometimes downright hilarious they are. the best moments in FROOT were the title track, happy, the visuals, the merchandise, and of course the godly neon nature tour everything about that tour was perfect. the costumes, marina's voice, the way each era was represented. also, the tracks from FROOT were great live and allowed for marina's vocals to shine L+F has some highlights too. I love the dreamy sound of TBH especially on the second verse, and the impactful lines at the end of the song. I love the lyrics of the 1st verse of handmade heaven, and the "slow motion no sound" line of EOTE. I also absolutely love the baby MV and the dance she did towards the end of it. Iconic? nah.... doesn't compare to the superior line "omg my god you look just like shakira no no you're katherine zeta actually my name's marina"

this thread is like a never ending soap-opera -
to be human is lyrically the best song on the album FIGHT ME!!!
-
(edit: please ignore this poorly thought out response) It does though? In this picture she is actually wearing gold, and not cherry red but whatever... The cover photo for gold is nice, but I feel like it doesn't match the fruit that goes with it.
-
anyone here like exo?
-
THIS LOOK THOUGH L+F did not deserve this look. this is a FROOT visual y'all.... this should have been the cover photo for gold

The true irony of this all is that the kind of image that Lana puts out of herself caters more to critics and the public's opinion of her than before. I don't know Lana personally, so I don't know if maybe she has just matured and is tired of portraying herself in a certain way, and I wouldn't blame her for that, but it does seem like she might be trying to play it safe to get the industry to take her seriously. -
MAC is the most 70s thing Lana has ever written omg
