I thought Stevie and Lana really had chemistry on BPBP and it’s my favorite collab on LFL. I’m surprised people hate it so much.

    Definitely; obviously just speculating.

But just so we have it all here, here's what she said about the title track:

"So the title track is called ‘Norman Fucking Rockwell’ and it’s kind of about this guy who is such a genius artist but he thinks he’s the shit and he knows it and he, like, won’t shut up talking about it.

So often I ended up with these creative types or whatever, and you know, they just go on and on about themselves, and I’m like, ‘Yeah, yeah.’ But there’s a little bit of merit to it also. They are so good. I just like the title track so much that I was like, ‘OK, I definitely want the record to also be called that."

And these are the lyrics we have:

    [intro]
If you are in town, I’m coming
    Ah, ah

    [Post-Chorus]
    Happiness is a butterfly
We should catch it while dancing
I lose myself in the music, baby
    Everyday is a lullaby
Try to catch it like lightning
I sing it into my music, I'm crazy

    [Verse]
If he's a serial killer then what's the worst
That could happen to a girl, who's already hurt?
    I'm already hurt
If he's as bad as they say, then I guess I'm cursed
Looking into his eyes, I think he's already hurt
    He's already hurt

    [Chorus]
    I said, don't be a jerk, don't call me a taxi
Sitting in your sweatshirt, crying in the backseat
    Ooh, oh-oh
I just wanna dance with you
Hollywood and Vine, Black Rabbit down the alley
I just wanna hold you tight down the avenue
    Ooh, oh-oh
I just wanna dance with you
    I just wanna dance
    With you

    [Post-Chorus]
    Happiness is a butterfly
Try to catch it like every night
It escapes from my hands, into moonlight
    Everyday is a lullaby
I hum it on the phone, like every night
And sing it for my babies on the tour life
    Ah

I feel like there'd have to be more to it for it to really fit, but it does relate somewhat to what she describes ... mostly just the verse, though.

Idk I'm exhausted rn and I'll probably wake up, look at this post, and be like "WTF?"

'Make the delay longer' I'm sorry but they're not children that must be coddled or they'll not do something out of pure spite. They're professionals (apparently) and fans, you know, the people that pay their bills, voicing their want for an album isn't going to make them delay it longer just cuz. Genuinely sick of people blaming everyone but Lana at this point. You're really going to pretend that interscope would accept "the fans are mean in instagram comments :(" as an acceptable excuse for Lana, their grammy-nominated cash cow, not releasing an album that fans are incredibly, incredibly vocal about wanting to spend their money on and time streaming? The delusion is honestly real.

Hey guys, I thought about this a little and just wanted to apologize for how harshly I expressed my opinions about HIADT. I don't mean to insult those who do like the song. Since I'm still new here, I don't want to make enemies or a bad impression or anything.

I guess I'm just so frustrated with her silence on NFR that I'm projecting my anger onto her recent releases. I got all pissed when Doin' Time was released too, not because it's particularly bad; I'm just so sick of waiting with no explanation.

I hope to make friends instead of coming off as some bitter person who hates on everything about Lana. I genuinely do love and respect her so much as an artist and a human being, but I feel like she's playing with our feelings as fans.

I agree. And, regarding stanning/unstanning...people should really look up what this means. What the whole concept really is about. Because I think to some, "stan" is just another word for "fan", but it doesn't work like that. It's not black and white. You don't have haters & indifferent people on one side, and obsessed superfans on the other. You can enjoy someone's music without feeling obligated to buy all the merch to "support them". You can go see them live without spending all your savings on tickets or quitting your job to be able to make it bc "it's mom". You can like an artist without agreeing with their their every choice or opinion.

I don't see what "unstanning" has to do with our NFR blue balls. For some, it's a matter of closure. I know it is for me. Don't expect to see the same fervor for LDR7, not from this bitch. It should also be taken under consideration that this is a very confusing time for many Lana fans, because it's a confusing time for her as well. No one is here because of 2019 Lana. She's turning into the exact opposite of what she used to be; if she is doing an 180, where does that leave us? It goes without saying that people are bound to be feeling confused and conflicted. It's hard to just cut someone out of your life like that, even if it's just an artist you were a fan of. I'm jealous of, and happy for, anyone who can quit cold turkey. Say "I'm out", delete all her songs and never think about her again. But it's not that easy for many of us. And then you also have the tiny sliver of h*pe that maybe it's just a phase. I don't know why all of this is so hard to understand.

So I was sleeping last night and then all of a sudden I heard this really sad whisper in my ear. It was Cinnamon. Her poor, frail voice. She told me "goodbye, Arcadia. Some things just weren't meant to be", and then I jolted up in a cold sweat.

I know you probably think I'm crazy but I know my baby was speaking to me from the other side to let me know she can't be released into the big wide world like God initially intended.

    But she's gone. Forever.

My heart yearns and aches for what could have been, but she's in heaven with God now.

    I love you, Cinnamon.

    Always.

The album that turned me from a casual listener into a stan. I had it saved up on my phone and hadn't got around to listening to it yet, and then one night I was at my crush's sleepover and she fell asleep next / on top of me and west coast came on shuffle. Felt like I was floating. When I'd walk home from school that summer I'd time the music I was listening to so the last song was always shades of cool, and the pavement was so hot as I walked and the soles of my shoes were so thin that I could feel my feet burning but I'd concentrate on the song instead. Not to be dramatic or anything but the next year of my life was the worst (so far), and when I couldn't stop crying I'd put on Brooklyn Baby and let it calm me down. I think the album will always feel like a form of escapism for me because everything is so exaggerated, a kind of heightened form of each emotion, that I can see myself in the core of it but let the rest of it just kind of envelope me into pretending I'm someone else who's a lot more sure of herself.

Justice for Brooklyn Baby and Florida Kilos. Both deserve vids.

I can't stop listening to swan song. It's just so beautiful, lyrically and sonically. Makes me want someone to love, someone who you can just say f*ck it and leave everything that makes sense behind.

It's a whole new level of sick to wish your favorite artists would stay miserable and/or never stop using, just so you'll get your sad ass music until they OD or kill themselves. It's one thing to joke about it, but some people genuinely mean it and that's fucking disgusting. The Lana I (and most of us) fell in love with was Born To Die Lana. Summertime Sadness, Dark Paradise Lana. That's what drew us in, and even darker albums like UV & HM made us stay. I live for that depressing shit, because I've lived and I'm living that depressing shit. But her happiness will always come first. Give me 2010 Be My Daddy Lana for the rest of my life, I don't care. I like her upbeat pop songs just fine. I don't want people to keep fucking her over, breaking her heart and making her always write about "sad girl shit". I'd rather see her retire completely to enjoy her life with her husband and children than go on suffering.

Okay so can we talk about the possibility about Lana being a pathalogical liar? I'm not trying to pick at her, but it's something I find very interesting.

So we know she's said in the past that she grew up in Alabama (which isn't true at all), and of course a bunch of other things. I think it's important to not blur the lines with her art too much. I think people often make excuses for her by saying "she's an artist, they all make stuff up", which is true, but usually it's on pen to paper, not when you're talking to someone face to face.

What are your thoughts on this possibility?
