hollywood confuses me, they have parties for every single magazine cover? omg no wonder they're all alcoholics & drug addicts. this is the best she has looked in ages tho

if lana would let jim do anal, he'd like her . i know that kurt really didn't like many people, he was very demanding. he didn't suffer fools gladly and even the people he liked the most he fought with all the time. courtney probably was his best friend but they fought pretty much daily and pretty violently. he liked strong, smart, creative, independent women who could take care of him but where he could still be in control (part of the time). he hated people who he suspected of selling out (which lana did, i guess, with changing her image & music). he also hated when people completely adored him and thought he was some kind of god. he wasn't shallow at all, none of his girlfriends were really beauties. he was also very into music, lots of underground stuff, not just "the masters of every genre". idk really because i don't know lana personally but i'm not sure millionaire daddy's pseudo-deep submissive daughter would've clicked with a poor depressed highly sensitive bi-polar guy.

this interview is probably the most informational one she's ever given but it's also kinda...off-putting in a way. not like that one where she says barrie and her are the only true artists left and all that stuff but it kind of shows how...shallow she is.

nah, i think roar rly is about being a strong woman. russell brand supposedly divorced her bc he didn't like her being in control and he never/barely ever visited her on tour because he didn't like that she was the one in charge there.

I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath
Scared to rock the boat and make a mess
So I sat quietly, agreed politely
    I guess that I forgot I had a choice
I let you push me past the breaking point
I stood for nothing, so I fell for everything

this is about her relationship w russell, not about the music industry

this is a lana del rey fan forum, we have a 46 page thread dedicated to assumptions about her love life. this is an interesting topic imo, not just about lana's or lorde's views on feminism and empowerment but also our position on the subject. and i don't think we've overdiscussed at all so far

So this man came down the line outside handing out these little baggies with Sky Ferreira magnets (lol) in them (it's like a picture from the YNTO video with the album title and release date) and free download cards to make up for the event saying that there would be CDs available. When I asked him why there weren't advance copies, he said it's because the album is an iTunes exclusive, not that she doesn't have any. He said we'd have to order physical copies from her site, and he seemed like he was with her team and not some uninformed venue employee...I didn't get to ask when it would be available, but I'm thinking November 5th.

Anyway, sorry to everyone who expected the album last night/this morning, but it's realllly good and my download activates at midnight tonight if no iTunes links go up immediately.

I heard Christine. Or at least thought I did.

But guys she sANG "ONE", IT WAS INCREDIBLE. The crowd went from casual hipster to straight rabid mosh at that point. Basically she played the whole album live, then encored with a Lou Reed song (working on getting it on YouTube, she cried!), Everything is Embarrassing, and One. During EIE she was like in the crowd and I was going insane touching her face and hair and shit. Then she held my hand during 24 Hours so watch that become my favorite. Like everyone in the pit already knew that song, which was cool. Her voice sounds so good, definite improvement after her recuperation.

She also had to restart EIE halfway through because she messed up and spilled tea on the electrical equipment, only to have it sopped up by her manager so that she could spill more in the same place during the very next song And that's what makes it a Sky show, I guess.

I don't necessarily wanna run through the album yet but my favorites were definitely Boys, Omanko, Love in Stereo, and I Blame Myself. You're familiar with the last two but Boys is a great opener and super cute. It just sounds like the best of Sky songs do. OMANKO, however, is bananas. It was really sinister. In the merch line I heard people complaining about her more experimental songs (Omanko, which is like a wall of sound with weird sexy vocals; Christine, which is similar but more frenzied and she had to have a lyric sheet in front of her to sing it; and Night Time, My Time, which she professed to be her favorite and sounded kinda 80s goth meets Twin Peaks live), but I really loved them! So I'll leave it up to you guys.

Also I MET HER. There are zero good pictures documenting it because we were rushed through like crazy (I mean she was literally just doing a signing at the merch stand) and the guy who took the pictures was a dick and wasn't even making sure that anyone was looking at the camera. Despite the rush, I took my moment to talk with her a bit and give her my gift/letters. LMAO basically I made her one of those hollow stash books out of this:

But I pasted pictures of her over the author photo and taped her name over the author name and put Lisa Frank stickers on it. LUCKILY she has a good sense of humor and didn't find it to be as fucking weird as it is. I'll put up pictures of everything later. She was like really astounded, though, and called a bunch of people over to look at it. Douchebag cameraman was pissed at me for taking so long, hence no good pictures. She signed my copy of Ghost and told me that my name was cool BFF life

Also I loved the opening act. And today I woke up puking like hell. Worth it! Loads of contributing factors to make this one of the best concerts I've been to. And now we wait for the album. I wish these 24 12ish hours would never end

yeah i've thought about that & i was surprised when you said that lana was an infp because i've never really identified with her and i don't think we're very similar. tbh, i don't think we'd get along too well if we ever met. like we could talk and hang out but i doubt we'd make good friends. i have, in a way, identified with kurt in the past. not because of the things that have happened in our lives but more the way we react to things, our thought processes etc. i've read his biography and watched documentaries (i recommend "kurt cobain: about a son" btw. it's beautiful. it's footage of the places he lived set to audio of him talking about his life and music that he liked, it's amazing and a lot more insightful than other documentaries because it's actually him talking about himself) and i was rly surprised by how similar our personalities were.

yeah, i hate how shallow she sounds when she talks about the people she loves. she just says they're beautiful and they struck her visually it just seems kind of sad to me that she doesn't seem to know much about them. it's something i really dislike about her.

btw, i've also read that jim morrison was an infp which i think is pretty weird because he's so different from both me and kurt so either he's been mistyped by a lot of people on the internet or he was just some different kind of infp.

i dunno, knowing that someone is INFP is kind of weird in that it means a lot, but at the same time, it doesn't mean much? i mean, you can have totally different personalities but still share some really basic personal values that you might not immediately recognize in the other person? like, this is what it says is true of INFPs:

but you can be creative, smart, disorganized, moody, solitary, etc without being even remotely similar in terms of your outward personality. but you'd still be likely to have more commonalities with another INFP than an ESFP:

i think INFP is what many people consider to be an "artistic temperament"; moody, creative, independent, etc. like the other famous INFPs i can think of are fiona apple, jeff mangum, ian curtis, morrissey, thom yorke, david lynch, andy warhol etc. you throw all of those people (that are still living) into a room with a bunch of NFL players and theres likely to be a divide, ya know? but i doubt they all share similar personalities, just similar characteristics

Her seemingly very normal and healthy relationship with Barrie - as opposed to all the danger, darkness and obsession she seems to be fascinated with in all the men / relationships she mentions in her songs - is one of the things that makes me wonder how much of her public personality is actually her and makes me doubt a lot of her 'bad girl' backstory. I often get the feeling that she uses these artistic personas she's always created one way or another as a safe way to experiment and live (in her mind & via song) all these dark and dangerous fantasies that fascinate her without actually having to live them and deal with the less glamorous sides of it. I don't know if this makes any sense.

(Btw, this has nothing to do with the authenticity debate - which I personally think is complete bullshit.)
