Music in general has been on a MASSIVE decline since 2013 and I fully blame social media.

Remember when singers/writers/performers got famous because they actually had immense talent and worked really hard?

Back then, you’d have to be super talented and be in the right place at the right time/know people in the industry. Now, all you have to do is post a video to YouTube or tiktok and you’re an ”artist”.
 
I think most artists now go into music because they like music and singing - not because it is their sole passion to make music and can’t even fathom doing anything else with their life
 
These new artists take up space in the industry and then there’s no room for all the real musicians, hence the decline of music and why nobody around now can compete with the stars pre 2013

I don’t care too much about the poetry (although I am connecting with it more now that it’s spoken) but I’m obsessed with the background music and vocals. I hope that’s a taste of what’s to come

Chemtrails is one of her worst music videos. People only think it’s the best because it has good SFX and shit.
 
The story telling is terrible. It’s just all happy and then bam it’s dark. There’s no transition or anything. It’s just random and you’re left to infer what happened as opposed to seeing what has happened in a seamless transition throughout
 
Instead of turning dark out of nowhere, I wish there where some scenes that hinted to that earlier in the mv. Like it looks innocent to begin with but you can tell something isn’t quite right or maybe have scenes of her and her friends being happy but with random flickering dark imagery every now and again like in the 911 mv

I've been having a hard time connecting to the melodies of 99% of the songs from NFR and COCC. I don't know how to explain it but I feel like most melodies post L4L have been a bit of a drag. Before they were so well constructed, pleasing and memorable but now they're kinda dull imo. They were freestyles and it shows.
 
Don't get me wrong, some of her melodies post L4L are really good but they're few and far between imo.
 
For example, the melodies of yosemite vs carmen. Carmen is really well constructed melodically but yosemite is a bit lacklustre. You can tell that yosemite was improvised or had less thought put into it then Carmen's melody

I don’t think I would ever spend money to see Lana live again.
 
I saw her once in 2018 for the LA To The Moon tour, and she was AMAZING. Vocals were on point, no background dancers, amazing set, and the audience actually had manners. But for the past years, Lana doesn’t seem to really be trying on stage anymore - she just goes through the motions. On top of her lackluster performances, there’s SO much going on on-stage that you can barely focus on the little that Lana IS doing. Additionally, I feel like concert etiquette has declined so much in the past few years. The crowd is screaming so loud that you can’t even hear Lana. I want to go to a Lana show to hear her beautiful voice, not a bunch of screeching fans.  Honestly, I would pay a lot to see Lana give a half-assed performance as long as I could actually hear her and she was the main focus on stage.
 
No hate towards Lana at all - we all know she’s talented and what she’s capable of. I understand being nervous on stage / being tired — she’s only human, but it’s simply not worth it to me to buy tickets to see her anymore (especially with how expensive they are now due to her high demand).
