  5. all i know is i hope she gets weird on this album
  6. people (including myself) are excited about Dealer because it sounds different and we're kinda tired of the same old same old not much else to it
  7. as much as COCC is my least fav lana album, i do think it's gonna have a strange, warm and maybe even sad place in my heart in the coming years. it was released when i was going through an intense heartbreak and a really tough time, and i was really banking on the album to make me feel better. i remember at this point thinking things couldn't get any worse for me, but little did i know the worst was yet to come. it's an album that came to me at a time where i thought i was healing but i was really just in the eye of the storm - things were about to get even harder, even more chaotic, even more heartbreaking, even more scary. i remember listening to it for the first time with my best friend out in nature - my heart was really hurting, but i was doing my best to improve myself and fight thru all the bad stuff, so in a way i was doing strangely well. i have such a particular nostalgia associated with that day. i don't really go back to the album much, but im curious to see how i'll feel about it once some time passes.

  10. so... i've been off work sick for the past couple of days so i decided to watch Drag Race Down Under (i tuned into the first episode and hated it so much i didn't go back till now) and.... yikes. YIKES. i can't quite put my finger on what made it so universally unenjoyable, but here's a couple of things i picked up on: the pacing felt.... off? the episodes often felt rushed and they lacked the usual little editing tricks that help smoothly transition between segments, giving it an amateur feel overall. not to mention the series itself was super short, although honestly.... maybe it's a good thing we got that over and done with quickly the editing was just WEIRD. it felt like the sound effects were all coming in at the wrong time, and any jokes made or playful shade thrown during the confessionals didn't land because the editing was so bizarre.... jokes and shade were either given too much time to settle or not quite enough. all Drag Race seasons have forced storylines and favouritism, but none so brazenly obvious as this season (except maybe S13). they didn't even try to mask it well, which is how they usually get away with it. two queens could do the exact same thing, yet they'd compliment one queen for it and drag the other for it. i understand this is how reality tv like this works, we all do, but usually it comes across a lot smoother and less jarring. this series might be the most egregious and unenjoyable example of riggory in Drag Race so far. the storylines were uninteresting throughout. i mean, look at past seasons of Drag Race and think of their most interesting storylines, whether they were fabricated or not - Coco vs Alyssa, Phi Phi vs Sharon (and Willam), the "underdog" storyline of Jinkx Monsoon, Bianca Del Rio's character development, even Nina Bonina Brown's infuriatingly sad "inner saboteur" storyline in S9. even if these storylines were pushed and forced by production, they at least made the show interesting. if we're gonna have such a high level of producer interference like we have in Down Under, can they at least get the producer interference to result in some fun and interesting storylines?? outside of Elektra's underdog story (which didn't have much pay off in the end, since she went home on an episode she actually did well in), i can't name a single storyline or example of character development throughout the whole season. the producers' radars are way off it seems - they clearly expected Karen to be a fan favourite, yet.... everyone i've spoken to just finds it frustrating that she was pushed all the way to the finale when she didn't deserve it lmao. that blackface debacle. YIKES. yikes yikes yikes yikes YIKES. this combined with S13 (which was too long and honestly very boring) just isn't a good look for the franchise. thank god for DRUK2 and im praying AS6 is at least fun to watch!

  17. I personally think Thunder and Text Book have a lot in common sonically so I think it'd fit perfect!
  18. idk why i get the feeling she's going to rename 'Thunder' to 'You Roll Like Thunder'
  19. i really am assuming the first part of that tweet means "okay you guys are right this time"... get in ladies, we're going to roll like thunder!! not only am i happy because i love the song in general, but i also feel like it's indicative of a more upbeat, varied sound on the album as opposed to the stripped back nature of COCC! i know lots of people really enjoyed COCC, don't get me wrong, but i also know a lot of us are ready for something new with a little more production behind it whether we loved COCC or not! this is a very positive sign imo, we could possibly expect some fun rock ballad vibes, some heavier drums than we've had recently, and the return of the gorgeous backup singers from Summertime and Thunder!

aaahhh she's coming to leeeeeeeds <3 (the city right next to mine) i literally have no money when tickets go on sale but somehow i will make this work so help me god!
  21. if Thunder is on the album, I'd be happy if she reworked the lyrics! i absolutely love the song but lyrically it definitely comes across like it's in that demo phase, and the lyrics of that song really don't match the calibre that she's working at rn. i'd be happy for the same sound but updated lyrics, especially to fit the theme of the album
  22. I'd collapse if Thunder is really on the album I need the song on streaming services!!
