weirdly I really like BTD/OTTR. it feels like BTD is the lamenting of how destructive and dangerous and doomed-to-failure this relationship is, but OTTR picks right up and she's right back in the chaos and heat of that same relationship, as if - no matter how much she thinks about how terrible and bad for her it is - she just can't escape it because she's always being suddenly swept up in the fun, crazy parts of it, so it distracts her from the dark parts of it. also an obvious one, but Freak/Art Deco.

I know this thread is dead but I just want to express my excitement for the new album My friend and I are locked up in quarantine (obviously) together, but where we're at it's really easy to get to this completely empty golf course we have nearby. It's safe and socially distant because there's never anyone there since it's private property and all and at the moment it's closed because sports aren't allowed.... and I mean it's technically trespassing but from the angle at which we enter it, the groundskeeper / owner has no view of us from his house so he can't see us there's a gorgeous spot right at the edge that looks over the city. You can see everything, it's super beautiful. We decided that on Friday when the album drops we're gonna wait till the sun starts setting and head up there and sit at our favourite spot, take a speaker, some weed, and copious amounts of alcohol and listen to the album in full for the first time there together. I'm so so so hyped. I'm devastated his London show got postponed but this has given us something to rly look forward to and hopefully it'll half make up for it!! This album is sounding amazing so far, Boylife in EU and Pikachu are both incredible but Violence is next level. We've even decided we're gonna wear cute outfits and makeup, which will be hilarious since we have to do all kinds of climbing and jumping and fuckin parkour to get to the golf course hahaha but yeah, it's gonna be so fun!! I've been so ready for this album for sooooooooo long. Stream Violence!

so, the UK has closed schools, bars, restaurants, cinemas, nightclubs and gyms. this is a good move. but what haven't they closed and have no intentions of closing? hotels i'm a hotel receptionist and i'm telling you, our hotel is an absolute breeding ground, and i'm sure almost all others are too. we're not appropriately prepared or equipped to keep the hotel open while this virus spreads, yet we have to. plus my boss isn't taking this virus seriously AT ALL. it's not even policy for us to wear gloves while serving customers or anything. we have no antibacterial wipes to wipe down door handles, computer mouse and keyboard, touchpads, the phone, etc. our housekeepers still aren't wearing gloves and they're cleaning dirty, lived-in rooms every day. this is so dangerous. i'm still expected to shake guests' hands, carry their luggage up the stairs... this isn't right and i'm worried, we HAVE to close. many of our guests have of course travelled from different countries, and many of them are older and therefore at risk - our hotel chain employs 12,000 people across the country, our health is important, but even if we are symptomless we could be carriers and passing the virus to all the thousands of people that check into our hotels every day. one of our receptionists is a pregnant woman - she was made to SIGN A WAIVER saying she's fine with the company making her continue to work, and that she is doing so fully at her own risk. another of our receptionists is living with a woman who's under quarantine bc she worked in a care home with someone who was confirmed to have the virus. he should not be coming into work is he's living with someone who's in quarantine!!! but NO!! our company has no intentions to close, and the government seems to have no intentions to close down hotels in the UK. this is INSANE. hotels NEED to close. edit: would also like to add that due to my contract I'm not entitled to sick pay unless the company is forced to close the hotels.... so, i can't just not go, otherwise i'll be completely fucked, potentially even fired.
