15 is somehow an ugly number to me so a no from me 
But in the end I'm happy no matter how many songs we will get but 13 just feels right for Lasso somehow (especially with no Interlude nor covers)

Actually Lasso in September and then the Covers album maybe in November would be really cool. At that point we would have spend some good amount of time with Lasso and it would be a nice addition to the country album and for the upcoming holiday season

I don’t want to make excuses for her, but her situation may also be different since she’s actively touring and there may be a risk of attacks if she comes out on one side or another. I wonder if her touring contract is potentially disallowing her from commenting on things that could rile ppl up?

13 solid tracks, 50-60 minutes : that would be a dream 

I kind of don't think it's true that she has been working on it for 4 years Maybe one or two tracks are from Chemtrails/BB/OB but really, I think she just means she has been wanting to do a country record since then. She's talked about it like the songwriting style is more melodic and less revealing because she felt like she got it all out with the past records. Which makes me think at least 90% of the record was written post OB. 

If she has been making that album for 4 years (so since late 2019/early 2020) then it has definitely different "tones" in it because in those years she has met different producers as well, like Drew Erickson whom she met in early 2021.

Oh absolutely, I won’t be mad or blink an eye if it’s not 16+ tracks! It’s not like this is her first album in years, she knows how to keep her fans fed! I like her ‘picking the best ones’ mindset that she had for Ocean, but I do agree that a shorter more thought out track listing is beneficial. I do think Lasso should be a bit shorter just because I think it’s going to be more of a concept album 

Why does it strangely feel like it’s already been 9 months when we’re just on month 6. And why would month 9 feel like month 8, but an actual lasso feel like it’s existed for like 3 years.

I’ll accept 13 tracks IF it means her psychedelic surf rock trip hop masterpiece 20-track album is out within 14 months….

Tbh I don’t completely get this argument, I don’t want 30+ songs like some of my faves, but I’ll never say no to 16 tracks. That just gives me more content to possibly enjoy and if I don’t like a track or two (which happens on every album) I still have plenty of songs to fall back on, COTCC had 11 songs and I don’t love three of them so that leaves me with 8 tracks to enjoy.
 
IDK I get not wanting an album to be bloated but I’ll also take as many songs as possible just for the variety 

Metacritic has a list of upcoming albums and they’re also saying it could come out in September, though it’s in the « not confirmed yet » category 

Finally watching the NME interview and the album is definitely coming. She explains again that it’s more songbook melodic and less self revealing. I think the intention of her previous comment was to signal she doesn’t know where Lasso will fit with all these country albums being released or already released.
 
i think she might be uncertain where it will fit it the culture, but this uncertainty makes me even more excited for this record.

Not to get all political, but why are we looking to celebrities for answers on foreign conflict? Last time I checked she wasn’t working for The Hague, or any other global powers. So expecting someone who works in her industry to basically be your martyr is just dumb, sorry to say. Lana has been known to do the work before she opens her mouth about advocacy. So maybe she’s sent aid and just didn’t feel the need to disclose it. Who cares?

idk if this article has been brought up yet, but this billboard article implies lasso is still coming in September. I know they could be totally wrong, but with Elle saying it would be and this I’m having more hope we will have a release hopefully September if not the end of the year.
 
 

I want to believe but I think the writers of  these magazines know about as much as we do, there’s multiple instances of magazines giving the wrong release dates (LFL, NFR in March, September for COTCC) but here’s to hoping!!
