The okay in the middle of A&W just ends me. 

Sigh. 

remember she mentioned in december that fingertips is so complex it could've taken over a year to organize  really curious about that song 

i know  i really hope she’s still working on one though, i love poetry so much and need more from her

y’all talking about music videos but i’m still hoping for her second poetry book #BehindTheIronGates

I'm not trying to be one of those blindly supportive fans or kiss up to everything she does or in this case doesn't do, but I'm not understanding the fuss over the lack of music videos this era...1. I think it's cool to play with the idea of releasing an album where she can just let the music speak for itself. 2. The music is so diaristic, raw, and so visual that I feel like she's transmitting her vision through the lyrics. 3. She probably had a few music videos planned for this era, but the camcorder being stolen made her understandably upset!
 
I wouldn't complain at all if we got music videos, however, if this is a one-off era where she just puts out the music, I think that would be super interesting! If she stops creating music videos in general for future eras, then I would feel more upset. 

it only really comes up when I'm listening to those specific songs where she touches on it ( BBS, WFWF, A&W etc.) but sometimes i feel guilty  lmao- cause i get what Lana has expressed so far is that she was more or less emotionally abusive as a mother to her (an important detail to remember imo), which is obviously awful & i feel terrible, especially having gone through something similar .. but she's also talked about the karmic lineage/generational kind of traumas so i think she is aware that hurt people hurt people, even completely subconsciously sometimes.. It's very likely something like that which doesn't excuse it but you know, I feel you naturally can feel a slight bit of sympathy at least for a min. I'm able to anyway idk
 
it doesn't matter much but i do hope for Lana that one day when the time is right, whether thats in 2 years or 20,  there could maybe a place for reconciliation with firm boundaries set in place. If really too much happened, maybe it's impossible, but at least a reconciliation within her heart for her own sake
 

Venice Bitch is my favourite song of all time but it's not really possible to fairly compare them at this point, A&W has had 5 days, Venice Bitch has had almost 4.5 years. Both are absolutely career-defining songs that do really unique things and further prove Lana as an artist like no other. 
 
They're also polar opposites in a really interesting complimentary way. A&W has this frantic urgency to it and a real darkness beneath the surface, where Venice Bitch feels like an entire life distilled into a song and has this hynotic meandering quality to it. I love both songs so much

I know I’m in the minority when I say I enjoyed both BB and Chemtrails albums, but it floors me how this woman is so talented to keep producing straight up top notch quality work. I literally can’t think of any other artist where I like 95% of their songs and continue to feel connected to the music after all these years. She’s incredible.

Oh believe me, me too! I can't stand when people are like this is going to be her first true album since NFR!! Like what...Chemtrails and Blue Banisters are both essential albums, and I don't think Lana would be at a point to write a song like A&W without exploring what she did on the last two albums. Everything she does builds upon what comes before it. I don't doubt for a second that in the future all her albums will be regarded highly for their own unique contributions to her story.

I agree, all those songs are masterpieces too. But I really don't think people's love for A&W is inauthentic or just because they like to bop to the ending. Like maybe the length and the second half are what gets people talking, but then they're captivated by the whole thing and recognize it for how strong it is. If anything, it may convince some of those people to dive deeper into Lana's work and discover songs like White Dress, Chemtrails, etc. I think this album in general is going to open a lot of people's eyes to Lana and she's going to be respected on a larger scale.

That's what I really want to point out though. I'm glad the song is capturing people's attention. I just have a feeling that if A&W was five minutes long with a cool outro that we know as the transition, people would be crying about another Chemtrails/Blue Banisters incoming. It's just glaringly obvious to me at this point. In my opinion, songs like White Dress, Chemtrails, Wildflower Wildfire, Blue Banisters deserved similar respect to A&W.

Yeah same. I mean how devastating for her if it 100% is all gone but I really hope not. I’m willing to wait for it bc I know it will be worth the wait but I wish we knew something. Like if she’s rewriting it or still intending on putting out another one. 

I’m still depressed about this. I love Violet sm and really wanted another poetry book! I hope that over time she can rewrite it or somehow get back everything she lost. I imagine she put so much work into this and it suck’s so bad that someone stole it.
