  1. Him believing he was part of her team because of this, and not just a parasite, was pretty much the low point of 'stan culture'.
  2. Hopefully this all helps some of these 'stans' to understand the difference between a fan and a friend.
  3. She's released six albums worth of those.
  4. and where applying the principle of charity is considered a sign that you should be cast out of society.
  5. She's clearly saying "I was shamed for this in the past - maybe culture's moved far enough through these other artists that I can do what I've always done, and not be shamed for it anymore." Unfortunately we live in a world where people get clicks and cash by misunderstanding people's obvious intentions ...
  6. I always thought that there was a similarity between Million Dollar Man and Paloma's work, and interestingly, the coproducer of it, Chris Braide, worked on a couple of Paloma's records, but not the record I thought it reminded me of (Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful)

  8. This can't be overstated enough. The pandemic is the event which is leaving all of us who used to get to feel sorry for the victims of a tragedy 'somewhere else', and guiltily hand over a few dollars, as the ones who don't know if we're going to have any future at all. Sort of the same way that capitalism eventually destroys itself - when the people who have to make the crap are the same people who have to buy it - here the people who need to 'reach out to help' are the ones who are going to need help themselves.
  9. Pink Floyd have put up most of the Pulse concert on Youtube: Edit: The bums took it down!
  10. Twenty six years today since we found out that Kurt Cobain was gone.

  12. They haven't officially announced it yet, but it's 100% certain it will be cancelled.
  13. There's a massive difference between being able to speak for 45 seconds on a video, and singing for the length of a concert. Her voice definitely sounds like it's messed up.
  14. For the Julia Jacklin song, it's not fantastic quality, but it's good enough to listen to and enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1fu9L6B9KA
  15. Awesome! Except for that super ugly award, but what are you going to do ... Is there video of Anna Calvi presenting the award?
  16. Because I was watching television with family, due to a strange combination of factors, the last song and first song were my least favourite songs by two of my all time favourite artists (although it was a cover of the first one): Last song of 2019 First song of 2020
  17. Where is this from? Also (and I say this as someone who has seen him live numerous times, and back in the nineties, before the internet made everything available to everyone for free, spent all my spare money on tracking down every last b-side and non album track), nobody is listening to the Nick Cave record more than twice. It's just the sort of record that gets critical acclaim.
  18. It probably cost her $40 to record ($50 if you count her coffee budget),. so it's all profit. I'm actually really excited for this, particularly looking forward to when some enterprising bootlegger presses it up on turquoise vinyl and slaps a photo from 2014 onto the cover
  19. I'm not able to do that unfortunately. Does anyone else here know how to convert an MP3/Wave file to Youtube format?

    Some interesting news.
  21. I can't even express how happy I am to see this happen. Julia is one of my favourite new(ish) artists, ever since I saw her supporting Cat Power.
  22. I don't know any Lana fans who don't like the original, or who do like the Cedric remix.
