  1. Saddest thing I've read all day FR
  2. Wait Kintsugi was Boz? IDK I find that hard to believe unless BOZ has a severe split personality disorder.
  3. Kintsugi was perfect at gently guiding us without leaking or spilling too much info that would ruin any surprise. Also seemed genuinely sweet and unproblematic.
  4. Oh that makes more sense. Getting fucked over by a 6'2 man-child, fine whatever, tale as old as time. Getting fucked over by a 5'8 man-child? I'd be livid. Now that's worth writing an album over and calling it Norman Fucking Rockwell.
  5. She didn’t want to pay them to come on stage with her. Mama wants to keep her overhead lofty. She knew the fans would pay her either way lmao

Ok that mv made up for the lacklusterness of SNTV

Sorry but the re-recordings are starting to lose their novelty imo. Red and Fearless benefited from the pandemic-nostalgia aspect, but I really don’t care about SNTV and the songs sound flat and uninspired…makes me nervous for 1989 and Rep, espc. since she broke up with the latters muse lol.

    Threads (Meta)

Can they break meta back up so we have more competition and benefit from better software advanced. Instagram’s getting too tied into “Meta” and their reliance on shopping and ads. I imagine this one will too.

She’s kinda lame for that ngl.
  10. First CD: Madonna Confessions On a Dancefloor (a very inappropriate Christmas gift for a 5/6 year old). First vinyl: Lana Del Rey Born To Die

    Miranda Sings

The world is a mess. The world is an angry place. And out of all the issues in the world and all the anger in the world, people chose to focus on this and be angry about this? The last thing some starving child in a sweatshop read on the iPhone he was forced to build was "Miranda Sings sent underwear to a 15 year old and she's officially now the devil".

    Madonna

So sad, I hope she’s ok and recovers quickly.
  13. I think we're ultimately trying to equate hype for leaks with favoritism of leaks. They're very different, imo. Do we overhype leaks (and leakers )? Yes. Does that mean we're psychologically biased to make our favorite Lana songs leaks? No.
  14. No amount of keyboards in the world would make this analogy make sense, love. You're comparing quality with market-distribution, and it is incomparable.
  15. What does that have to do with--never mind
  16. I can sorttttt of see the analogy, but what gets me is that "unreleased Lana songs" are not "fake Lana songs" as the analogy seems to suggest...both would be real Chanel shoes in that analogy. I'm giving myself a headache can we stop talking about shoes and unreleased songs and whatever
  17. Huh? But that's literally not how it works. You are not holding anything constant, other than the fact that both groups would contain Lana songs. It would be highly variable. It would be like asking people to chose between Chanel shoes from the 1960s or Chanel shoes from the 2020s; and arguing that "true" Chanel fans would prefer the 1960s shoes because of "scarcity bias" and average shoe consumers would have no clear preference. It makes no sense. Your stylistic choice has nothing to do with your knowledge of the lore.
  18. But the “quality” of a song is not as objective as a shoe or a purse. Furthermore, in the shoe or designer item study, they are controlling the emotional aspect—the branding—which you cannot control with a song or piece of music. Such study would be deeply flawed, and it would be ridiculous to draw any kind of correlative conclusion from it.
  19. I’m starting to lose you with the “issue” and “troubling” language, @Dior. I don’t think it’s an issue nor do I think it’s some problem with the collective psyche. It’s a phenomenon, interesting sure, but not really something that needs to be treated like a problem.
  20. Architecture and Pink Champagne are two that I can objectively say have better lyrics than their released counterparts.
  21. I think part of it, too, is nostalgia. We get leaks that are usually from an era, or many, prior--and since Lana's sound has changed tremendously through the eras--it takes people back to that time in her career and that time in their life. I think "Melancholia" benefitted from the nostalgia of the UV era immensely, bc it is quite a rough and slightly awkward song. That said, I agree that false "scarcity" or this idea of "exclusivity" around leaks is what drives the fascination. Look at "Riverside". I'm sure if UFB gets released in 7 years, no one will really bat an eye then either. And if "Candy Necklace" had been the outtake instead, we'd all be begging for that song.
