  1. Does anyone happen to know approximately how long vinyls take to be pressed for an order as large as Lana’s would be? If Lana did change the record name suddenly, wouldn’t there be a significant delay? Or does it not take very long?
  2. I don’t really know the timeline of everything, but maybe she had already completed Blue Bannisters at that point & started working on the second album with her newfound direction sometime after? I’m still catching up on her interviews, so this could be completely wrong, but maybe that’s a possibility? Or maybe the second record she’s been working on was just the covers album and she considers it more of a side-project rather than one of her “main” records...if that makes any sense
  3. did the insider rule out rap? I haven’t seen anyone mention that yet unless I missed it
  4. lmao imagine it’s something insane like a country take on hip-hop & that’s why she’s using country aesthetics with Mike Dean as a producer (if he actually is the producer) I know that won’t actually happen but it’s a funny (and scary) thought
  5. Some random person on TikTok, and they claimed eclipse said so. I’m like 99.99% sure it’s false, and no one else has heard of this from eclipse either as a side-note, I really hope it’s not true. Lana’s solo tracks are normally a lot stronger lyrically, and her collabs are normally hit or miss
  6. Damn, I figured it was fake, but I’ve also been a little out of the loop with insider info this era lol I can’t wait until we start getting more solid news!!
  7. The Song of Achilles—I’m really hoping it’s good!
  8. “I will wait for the next time you want me like a dog with a bird at your door.”
  9. I just saw a TikTok that said Blue Banisters would have an A$AP Rocky feature, and they also claim that this info came from eclipse. Can anyone confirm? I hadn’t seen anyone talking about this here, so I was skeptical
  10. the IT girlies are so underrated!! They keep the thread moving when there’s radio silence from Lana lol
  11. I know it’s ridiculously early & that I’m making conclusions with little info, but here are my predictions: Blue Banisters: As user @lanadelrey mentioned, I’m really anticipating this to be a Fine-China-esque track: chock-full of longing, a defined storyline, and really tangible, personal imagery. Alternatively, if it turns out that BB is actually a proclamation of love and gratitude for everything her lover did, it may be one of the most endearing love songs she’s released. Rock Candy Sweet: I’m getting Radio meets Money Power Glory vibes. She announced the track in the same breath as saying she wants revenge, so I’m expecting a very sarcastic and surrendered stance at her critics and the fame she’s acquired. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a line like, “Now my life is rock candy sweet/It’s everything they wanted it to be.” I’m excited to see what everyone else thinks!
  12. I completely agree about Fine China. The snippet shows so much longing in her voice, and her reminiscing about how her lover was to return every May reminds me so much of “On the same day my husband to be/Packed his things to run.” Mentions of blue banisters and weather vanes reminds me of that domestic tangibility in Fine China when she evokes imagery of fresh linen and dresses. Super excited!!
  13. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Cherry Blossom ends up on the country record (assuming the country album isn’t BB); Lana definitely adopts a country twang on phrases like, “Lemonade tea,” and “Swing it high like Jesus.” I’m really excited to see if she does anything with it!!
  14. Not to be delusional but what if Bodega Bae is a Dean-produced hip hop track? I’m getting Serene Queen vibes if that’s a song title lol
  15. After listening a bit more closely to the snippet, I definitely think this song is going to erupt into some heavier production. At least with headphones, I feel like the ambient noise in the background has a lot more atmosphere than I was expecting. It reminds me of those moments in mainstream pop just before the instrumentation sets in. If Mike Dean is indeed the producer, I think we’re in for a really interesting surprise. Hip hop influences with country aesthetics? It’s such a Lana thing to do, but we’ll see!
  16. I just realized that there may be a COCC situation where someone looks at the website’s code & unearths the album photo...imagine all that shows up is the Insta pic lol
  17. I was thinking this as well. I would think that most producers wouldn’t release something super problematic (or just a mess in general) that would hurt their image & business, so maybe Blue Bannisters will just be a really solid album with little controversy....
  18. Honestly, idc what genre she picks as long as the record isn’t problematic lmao Initially, I thought COCC would be super controversial because she prefaced the record by saying she would challenge accusations of glorifying domestic abuse, but it ended up being relatively tame and more just clarified her definition of “fragility”
  19. Yeah, allegedly challenging accusations of cultural appropriation on a hip hop record would be..a choice.. if that original announcement post is any indication of what the album would be like, I would guess that there’ll probably be some rap features on it as well. Who knows, though
  20. WAIT what if Blue Bannisters is the title of one of the two records she said she’s been working on......and that’s why it has a different release date?? or am I being delusional lol
  21. This! Honestly, I am so hoping for a track that mirrors the sarcastic quips in Money Power Glory. I remember reading about how Lana knew MPG would be taken literally and that she was almost resigned with the assumptions that would be made despite it being very pointed and sardonic. It's interesting how this point in her career is almost reminiscent of the Ultraviolence era through the critics' accusations of her alleged inauthenticity and blatant apathy. I would argue that Rock Candy Sweet is just as deceiving of a title as MPG, and I'm really intrigued to see if she purposely picks a deceptively "sweet-sounding" soundscape or if she'll go full force with production that highlights the bitterness she's felt recently.
  22. Honestly, I might do exactly that and create a topic on LB that includes all of the quiz links. Thank you for the idea!
  23. pecan pie! what’s your favorite non-Lana song?
  24. Tagging everyone who responded would taking **a while**, but thank you to everyone that took it! I’m so surprised to see that there were so many people that enjoyed it! if anyone has an idea for another quiz, feel free to let me know
  25. That’s the one!! Such an underrated song!
