Is it my favorite single? No, but it’s really honest emotional expression & will probably be a pleasant intermission from the heavier topics on COCC

That makes sense, and I completely agree! As a side-note, I’m like 10x more hyped for Dance Till We Die and For Free now—referring to them as “outstanding” and “gorgeous” respectively means a lot coming from Mojo!

I wish I knew why Mojo gave COCC an 80 and NFR a 100 (if I remember correctly)! I know I’ll love the record either way, but I’m curious what they felt was different?

I’m really curious what the vocals on White Dress will sound like given that Lana described them as “not great.” Does she mean it’s pitchy or just not super polished & vulnerable? I’m definitely hoping for the latter, but I have a good feeling about it regardless Also, I’m so hyped for Dark But Just A Game now; referencing Ginsberg’s work is a nice nod to her love of beat poetry, and her description of it makes me think it’ll be one of the record’s best tracks

I’ve always imagined them to be similar in terms of acousticness, but I almost feel like Yosemite will be...lighter? Almost like TNC, but even that seems a little heavy for how I imagined Yosemite (if that makes any sense lol)

Well, initially TNBAR was a bitter demo about a lover choosing fame over her, and Yosemite was described as an acceptance of it (hence “We did it for fun”). I think this explains the Yin & Yang comparison. Considering this, I think the themes of Yosemite will be more similar to the released TNBAR. Production-wise, I think Yosemite will be decently similar to TNBAR.

ohh gotcha!! Either way, her recent visuals seem to point to something darker and grungier. After her posting the Women who Run with the Wolves references and seeing its relationship to COCC, I definitely think her posts are often indirect clues about her headspace for the next record!
