Radical Optimism was alright. Some people in these forums were harsh on it though, which is why I got my own opinion on it by listening to it. Critics are going to go ham on this album though as I can say it's a downgrade from Future Nostalgia but the woman can only do so much. The singles were the highlights in my opinion. The album tracks don't sound like single mainstream material so the promotional route for the album is probably going to be different compared to her other albums with 6+ singles and promotional singles. I can tell a deluxe or reissue is coming so I'm saving my money to buy it later. Hopefully those extra tracks can help the album pop more (and not just it being a compilation of her being a featured artist)

im so surprised this song is getting streamed less than So Long, London. SLL is beautiful but My Boy is such a straight up banger.

i don't think this album is her best out of everything else she has done, but it def combines a lot of the better aspects of a few genres, country folk and pop, and does it in an amazing way. but queen has to switch it up next album... i'm getting bored

I hate how this album needs digesting lyrically I'm not smart enough to understand all of the lyrics at first listen lol

I paused the album for now. I'll listen to it later. Thoughts so far: as light as the album is sonically, it's lyrically something that's very difficult to digest. And tbh I don't understand most of the lyrics. That's why I gotta re-read the lyrics.
I love the production because it's light but I understand when people say that she's in her comfort zone right now.

This is not it, nothing stuck to me. Actually some moments felt like she tried taking Lana's poetry to extreme but it was just boring and way too much. Lana included very catchy phrases and songs on OB, but this is just all the same
Also: it is waaaaaaay too long. 31 tracks? 2 hours? Yeah I’ll be going back to sleep

Album is kinda monotonous after Who's Afraid of Little Old Me.
First 3 songs are my favs so far.

It’s all a bit stupid really. Here is a woman who had a huge career back in the day, selling millions of albums and hit singles, one of the biggest Latina acts ever - and now in her late 50’s isn’t experiencing the same type of success as most popstars her age and for some reason it’s hilarious?
If people don’t like her, whatever…..but the entertainment biz is hard for aging women and Jen has literally NOTHING to prove to anyone, she’s been there and DONE IT ALL over the course of her career.
Her new album is a snoozefest, but i got nothing but respect from my end for a woman who has lasted through the thick and thin of a career in Hollywood, especially a latina one. I feel like that about any older woman still hustling all these years later in showbiz.
Also this notion that she is talentless is odd to me, sure…she’s not known for her voice, but she has always been a fantastic stage performer, dancer and business woman. She’s achieved things people half her age never will in Hollywood.

It's been over a month since I saw her live in Luxembourg and I am still not over it I listen to the setlist every now and then on Spotify and it hits hard. The location had a maximum of 1000 ppl I believe and compared to the other shows it was much smaller. It felt so personal because of that and she said she can see literally everyone in the room and is feeling their energy and I think she even saw me once because I did some weird moves with my arm and she did it too then (lemme live in that delusional ). I was in the middle of the crowd but still could see her so close and she is even more beautiful in real life and her stage presence was truly mesmerizing and stunning. She SERVED Vocals. She is so sweet and reminded us several times to drink water because it was so hot in there. It was one of the best nights of my life and this concert made me become even a bigger fan of hers Y'all can drag me but I did not listen to Tyler Durden much before but since I saw her singing it live I fell so hard in love with this song and it's now one of my favorites
What a great, emotional, stunning night I will always look back at
And to quote
@Darlin
Madison truly is a sweet, caring and hot angel
