Same here. 13 is a great number, and hopefully means no fillers/interludes. -

I love Chemtrails. It got me through some really tough shit. I remember living in a hotel at the time (had broken with my bf of 5 years), and the album dropped, and I was listening to it in bed and White Dress literally brought tears to my eyes. Is it her best album? No. Is it her shortest? Yet. Is it the most cohesive? Kinda! This is a quiet record, but the production is on-point, and all the songs go well together thematically and sonically. Also, Chemtrails (the single) is one of her best this decade, and Wild at Heart is MEGA UNDERRATED. My only issue is that it feels incomplete (For Free and Breaking Up Slowly are clearly filler tracks, and the album needed a few more great songs). -
Thank you <3

So, three weeks after the album announcement and still no single/news/snippet. Yikes. We really are in no man's land. Guess it's safe to say 2024 was one big desert rolling bush for LDR10. Thank god for Tough. -

For the cover, i'd like Lana smack dab in the middle of Louisiana swamp zone, taming alligators and looking hot af in a bikini. Paradise & OB nude cover combined with a splash of Chemtrails alt cover -
It's just insane. In my native country, healthcare is not great, but it's either free or dirt cheap (it's subsidized by the government). Where I live as an expat, everyone has medical insurance as long as they're employed, or a national. I've never had to worry about healthcare in my life, thank God. Also, one time I had insurance so good that I bought a pair of really expensive designer prescription glasses, (Oliver Peoples) and they refunded me in full. Didn't stay long at the job, but that experience was something else. Their policy allowed a frame per year, which means folks who have it can get new pair of designer glasses every year. Americans think they're the shit, and "the greatest country in the world." Yet they don't take care of their own people, and allow the sale of guns in supermarkets. If I didn't know better, I would think your government doesn't care about you at all.

Apparently, he's a Lana fan, according to his Spotify. So, he deserves to be pardoned and sent back home in a luxury limo with apologies. Joking But yeah, what to say... As someone who is super anti-capitalist and kinda shocked by the American healthcare system, I'm not surprised. But then, you do need to have a few screws loose in your head to go and outright shoot someone.

Tbh, at this point, this is the least excited I've been for a Lana record ever. For one, the constant shift in direction seems insecure, as does the release date delay, as does the title change. The new title is actually not an improvement over the last one. Hate me all you want, but Lasso was better. Drew Erickson as a producer - snooze. Announcing "two more singles", then backtracking also sounds like insecurity to me. Henry sure sounds great, but also like nothing we haven't already heard on Chemtrails. (Based on the snippet alone). Also, she teased that a year ago, and clearly hasn't made songs that she's more proud of. So I'm not expecting "big" songs like Ride or West Coast or even OB, because than that would be her choice of single. There doesn't seem to be a proper album cover yet, which also says to me that the album is nowhere near actual materialisation. At 13 songs only, it'll be only slightly longer than Chemtrails probably, which is her shortest record to date. Lastly, it's her longest break between albums (right?), but even May 21st sounds iffy. The fact that we have to wait six (or more) months is just excruciating. And god knows when the first single will drop. For all we know, she'll delay the album again, and drop the single in May. It's not the best time to be a Lana fan tbh. Don't throw tomatoes on me, this is just my opinion. -
Lana Del Rey and Quavo “Tough” - OUT NOW!
barttttender replied to rocknrollgroupie's topic in New Releases
Ahaha, so true - one of the biggest disappointments of the year. But hey, at least Tough is about to outstream Venice Bitch and other top songs. Fyi, VB is probably my favorite song of all time (of anyone's discography), but I'm glad Tough is still doing well (near 400,00 streams on Spotify daily)/ -
but he didn't. She was pretty f-ing big before she met him. He just got the the critics to rile up behind her. Before Jack, she was a bit more critically divisive, but not even by that much. let's not forget that Jack is yet to produce a single song for Lana that charted on the Billboard 100. An argument can be made that he's more closed than opened doors for her, at least in terms of commercial success. Her last number 1 album was LFL, after all. So yeah, she's kissing his ass a little too much.

Also reads a little bit like a slap in the face to Rick Nowels, Emile and her other old producers. I miss the times she would mix up the producers. Going from Emile to Dan to Rick was superb, each album having a different vibe.

Thank you. Honestly, I could probably come up with 20,000 titles better than "The right person will stay." But I know the title has its fans, so I'll shut up. -

Watch her say something random like "Our new album, Moonlight Melancholia, is coming out July 21st." -

i very highly doubt it. There was a time when we would get a huge lead single with big, high-production MV values. Now it's like 'I'll drop this acoustic ballad as the lead single whenever i get around to it, and there'll be no MV, and you just have to deal with it." Ugh. -

I just wished she'd dropped the first single with the album announcement. Like, what difference does it make? She dropped Mariner's ages before the actual album, and no big deal. Instead, she's delayed the album by 9 months (September-May), then delayed the two singles she's announced before year-end. If she'd dropped ONE god-damn single before the year-end, at least should we mitigate some of those false promises and delays? Lastly, if it's Henry and it's a super minimalist ballad, then why wait that long at all? It's not like extensive orchestra and drum programming needs extra work. Basically, just drop the single lana damnit -

Please no more voice demos. Can't imagine anything lazier for a musician to do. It's like a writer publishing their voice memos where they literally told a random story that popped into their head without story- nor sentence- level editing. It's a fine experiment for a song or two, but we've done that, we have it in the can, let's move on. -

That's a very good point. The girl is an absolute genius, super creative, and has what most important: the soul of a a true artist/poet. (Unlike say, Lady Gaga, for example, whom I find completely plastic.) It could also be that we're just massively overthinking everything with this new album lol, and critical/fearful before it even dropped. Thanks for this reality check haha.
