  1. She's great, that Good Luck, Babe song is one of the year's best. Haven't really liked anything else I've heard but I'll give the whole album a shot before making a judgement.
  2. Also, Tough outstreamed these songs officially on Spotify at spot 81. * Tough 79,934,564 1,332,637 Blue Velvet 79,378,388 26,813 Beautiful People Beautiful Problems (feat. Stevie Nicks) 78,906,589 27,848 Tomorrow Never Came (feat. Sean Ono Lennon) 78,897,525 35,294 Honeymoon 77,368,435 36,139 Religion 72,075,823 36,898
  3. I think it's a smart move personally. Tough had 3 weeks on Billboard. Having it appear on the radio now will ensure Week 4, possibly Week 5. With all the waiting we've had with this single, it actually transpired that Lana's and Quavo's team knew what they were doing and have given us Lana's biggest hit this decade. EDIT: This just in, Tough made it to week 4 on Billboard- https://www.billboard.com/artist/lana-del-rey/. Again, that's the 5th longest charting song of her 12+ year career. Right after Summertime Remix, Y&B, Snow, and Angel. Most others have dropped after week 1 or 2, even Say Yes to Heaven only lasting 3. So, to all the Tough detractors, I hope you know appreciate just how well this song has done now? It's the 6th highest chart entry and the 5th longest chart entry for Lana, and maybe the only Lana song this decade we've heard on the radio that's not a Taylor collab.
  4. No, because it would have made everyone think it's a Radiohead-esque/trap record. You can't start an album filled mostly with ballads with a half-trap banger.
  5. NFR is a peak for sure. But what they've done subsequently on songs like White Dress, Chemtrails, Wild at Heart, A&W, Ocean Boulevard, Taco Truck, etc. definitely has a spark and a loads of inspo and creativity behind it. I think you're being a bit unfair. My only beef with OB is that it's a incoherent. But I do agree with you that Lasso should try to sidestep some of their comfort zone/lazier efforts and break new ground/reach for new heights. More Tough and AW-sounding hopefully, since they've made about 4000 ballads in five years.
  6. Do you ever have anything positive to say? God, every post I read of yours, you hatin' on sth
  7. Ummm i wouldn't go that far though lol 😅 Top 30 or 35 maybe. but yeah, the way some people hype up songs like Fingertips, Flipside, or Interlude: the Trio, but slam Tough is insane

My lord, this collab is fire. Going straight to my summer playlist. Jesus fucking christ, billie is killing it this year.
  9. I wish Lana would stay clear of promoting her brother's "music". To say that it's bizarre is an understatement.
  10. Most of her albums have a 2-year gap. Only Honeymoon and BB have arrived the year following her previous record. Six months ago, she obviously thought Lasso would happen sooner ala HM and BB. But it's clear now that it's likely to be a 2025 release as per the usual gap in between records. In the meantime, we've likely got one or two more Quavo tracks, maybe some unreleased content, collabs, concerts, and the first Lasso single, if we're lucky, so this is a very standard release wait time for the fans. The only mistake she made was to speak prematurely and announce the record for September, but she has since rectified that statement. So, we're all on track for Lasso 2025. There is no reason to complain at all.
  11. I agree with that. Tunnel, as good as it was, was wildly inconsistent and sometimes sounded like a mix-tape. OB, Grants, Sweet, Paris, Texas, and the Interludes sounded like one, piano heavy record with a gospel vibe. A&W, Candy Necklace, Fishtail, Taco and Peppers sounded like they belong on another, more trap oriented record Grandfather sounded like an NFR leftover. Margaret and Let the Light felt like they came from another, acoustic guitar album. Chemtrails leftovers? And then there's Kintsugi and Fingertips, which sound like Bjork-style avant-guarde. With Lasso, I'm cool with country and trap or rap mixing. But I do hope it doesn't end up being a mixed bag of genres like OB.
  12. This 100%. Adele has dropped 4 albums since 2008. There was a six-year gap between her last two. Lana's dropped four albums + poetry book + audio book + bunch of solo singles & collabs + bunch of unreleased songs during the same six-year period. I know we all want Lasso, but we have no ground to stand on when we complain.
  13. how many authors were involved is such a mute point tho. Every song beyonce has ever released has like 11 writers on it. It's a miracle that Lana has more success than / as much success as beyonce in the streaming era, given how she writes most of her songs on her own. You (and others) are selling tough short. It was never going to be Summertime Sadness-level smash. That's a straight-up pop song. Tough is a country/rap mix that was never going to be everyone's cuppa. But it sure as hell did well, especially given lana's previous spotify chart entries, like the user above astutely pointed out. again, it's doing more streams on spotify daily than summertime. Do you have any idea how hard it is for a pop star pushing 40 to dethrone her top charting single on streaming in the same year beyonce, billie, dua and others dropped their singles? It's actually a miracle. (See how Katy Perry's latest has done by comparison). not even love or doin' time, her poppiest songs in years, managed to hold up this well. another mute point is that it's a collab. No one has ever complained when katy perry's bon appetite with migos made a huge splah - just because it's not a solo song. These points youre making are circumstantial.
  14. It'll come, babe. She's not gonna drop 10-15 songs she's been working on for 5 years. Not when she's got a hit in Tough, and she's got gems like Mirror, Henry and Prettiest Girl ready at hand. My guess is that she had a solid country record and was genuinely aiming for a September release. And then she heard Cowboy Carter, Hit Me Hard and Soft and other releases and realized the record is not up to par and she needs to work on it a bit more. I'm guessing she's adding some beats, tweaking it, changing stuff, adding new songs, etc. I'm still hoping for the first single in September. So, at least she'll have given us something to latch onto. The song she's just registered is probably that.
  15. I've been saying this for months. A trap beat across Lasso would make this record a far more interesting project. I'm hoping the Mirror and Tough are both on it, and there are other tracks in a similar vein, in addition to Prettiest Girl in Country Music, Henry Come on and other more traditional country cuts. While I love Chemtrails and OB (loathed BB so leaving it out), I miss LDR records with a bit of a pace to them and some variety. Fewer languid ballads, if you will. If Lasso ends up being a sequel to LFL or Born to Die, I'd be over the moon. She'll have plenty of time for ballads in her 40s, 50s and 60s lol
  16. I mean, not every song needs to be on a year-end list to be deemed a success. Some just need to be bops, gets some radio play and good streaming numbers, and be part of the pop culture conversation. What's more, she's just had that massive critical success with A&W, complete with 2 Grammy nominations. For me, a peak on 33 in the US, plus high ranking in countries around the world + 4 weeks of charting, is more than enough to solidify Tough as a big win for Lana this decade. I'll also remind you that none of the some 50 songs off her last three records had anywhere near the commercial success of Tough, and had zero radio play. So, we needed Tough, and it delivered. Mission accomplished, and we can now move on.
  17. Well, it's getting more daily listens than Summertime Sadness - the biggest hit of her career. And those numbers has been steady for 4 weeks. It's been on Billboard for 3 weeks, and will surely stay there for week 4. Only 4 Lana songs have stayed on charted for that long (Summertime Remix, Y&B, Snow on the Beach and Don't Call Me Angel). Hence, if it makes it to week 4, it'll be the 5th longest charting song of her career. That's longer than Say Yes to Heaven, West Coast, High by the Beach, Lust for Life, Love, Prisoner, Doin' Time, etc. If you don't think that's a success, I don't know what you expected exactly? It also peaked higher than Say Yes to Heaven, and only 5 songs have peaked higher than Tough overall (West Coast + the four I mentioned above). Mind you, West Coast was out after 2 weeks on the chart only, and that was at the height of her fame (Born to Die/Paradise era had just ended). I know there are a lot of Tough haters around here, but objectively speaking, this is a hit. Not to mention it's now been sent to radios, too.
  18. With 1.6 million streams per day, Tough outstreams the below tracks on Spoitfy. Next up: Honeymoon, Tomorrow Never Came and Beautiful People. It'll probably reach Lana's top 50 songs in a month or two, which is a massive success. 85th song of her career in just 4 weeks so far! Mind you, Honeymoon (song) has been out for 10 years. That just shows you how big this song is. Religion 71,880,331 42,527 Summertime Sadness - Sped Up 70,761,374 48,737 Yayo 70,182,734 25,659
  19. Oh lord. Could in God's Time be the first Lasso single? I reckon Tough and God's Time are from Lasso, and Fly is off Quavo's new album. At least I hope so since I don't want that Lanny Krawitz chorus anywhere near Lasso. Maybe they did one for Lana (Tough) and one for him (Fly). Fingers crossed. Wish we got a god damn announcement of sorts. or a new single. Maybe one week from now since it'll be a month since Tough came out.
  20. Aww thank you You're the sweetest As for God's Time, is that the "I want to fly away" track Quavo teased? I have to say, it doesn't sound very promising. That chorus is way, way overplayed. And it was never that good to begin with imo. But let's see.
  21. What's In God’s Time? I thought the only new track she performed was 'The Mirror'
  22. and today is my birthday. really thought i was getting a lil prezzie from ldr lol
  23. if it's a soft launch, it aint gonna be lasso related
