The mic was on but I couldn’t hear anything so I’m disappointed by that.

was just thinking about the collapse if she sang chemtrails live

she needs to retire a few btd songs.

the moments I could hear her I loved and she looks great, can’t wait to see more

Yeah, Diet Mint Dew was unnecessary. Like, just do Summertime, Blue Jeans, Video Games and BTD - those are the tracks.

Instead of Diet, she coulda done Chemtrails.

I think it was a great set.
lana will never be able to please everyone since she has so many songs already and so many won’t be played / sung very often live (too wordy, too slow…)
when she sings live, I always look for the song she never sang live before and I’m almost never disappointed. Flipside being recognized : 🤯

also: a couple of tracks from OB… I’m shocked.

yeah, although she really could have done without throway B side trash songs like Flipside - who cares about those? Especially when you've released Chemtrails, White Dress, Wild at Heart, Paris, Texas, The Greatest, FIILY, ,Peppers and other tracks that could be really fun and adored in a concert.

    Um Bartender is a masterpiece

Meanwhile you have Mike Dean as your pfp (aka the guy who produced the worst songs on her worst album) :awk:

Hey! I detest BB probably more than anyone else. But Wildfire is a rare highlight on that trash record, along with Thunder probably. No Wildfire slander! It's not even in her top 50, but for BB standards it's great.

I just woke up and saw some clips on insta

    what a show! :lange:

I'm watching the full concert on YouTube. It's magical.

Thousands of people chanting "Lanita!" made me tear up. So good to see the amount of love she's getting.

Also, having actual backup singers on stage is such a deft touch.

Fav tracks: Blue Jeans (she killed it), Norman (always sounds go good), and weirdly Arcadia (it's lovely live, has such a Leonard Cohen vibe).

Are you sure you’re listening to the right one? It’s towards the end, specifically says “more Lana”.

ah thanks. Just heard it. Meh.

make sure you're listening to the correct version [More Lana Del Rey] [explicit]

try to listen in good speakers or headphones if you can but

Lana sings the entire second verse and 90% of the outro

new Lana vocals on the second and third chorus

all the original harmonies are there

sounds gorgeous and the hums remind of that one version of summer bummer...if this was leaked and unreleased every hater would be eating it up but you guys just like what you don't have (till you get it lmao SYTH tease)

it's just that she sings 4 lines and taylor has to butt in in the background. She's clearly got major ego issues.

SYTH is also more accessible - it’s more radio friendly. At the end of the day, that is what pulls in more fans. I really hope the QoD thing is not just a rumor because it would be a totally new way people haven’t heard her (other than her fan base).

Very true. It's not THAT accessible, but it's definitely more accessible than any of Lana's last 5-10 singles, including Chemtrails singles.

Queen of Disaster and Serial Killer would smash like SYTH but these quick little singles doing so much better than masterpieces from Tunnel is sad.:noparty:

Here's the deal: people love Lana's love songs. Video Games, Young and Beautiful, Lust for Life, Born to Die, Shades of Cool... The list goes on and on. They lap her romantacised fatalism, which she built her brand on early on, like nobody's business.

The reason (I think) why her recent singles haven't performed well is that their topics are completely not related to love.

Chemtrails - being wild and free

White Dress - the burdeon of fame

Arcadia - the burdeon of fame

Blue Banisters - getting over a man

Ocean Boulevard - not being forotten

    AW - being promiscious

    etc.

The more she started singing about herself and her own life, her siblings, her father, her fame, people kinda lost interest. The fact is - her real life just isn't as interesting as the swooping romance, heightened emotions and big orchestrations of her early stuff.

So, I'll say Say Yes to Heaven is doing well because it's first and foremost a Lana Del Rey love song.

I'm so excited to hear this new release, because when the album initially came out I was extremely disappointed. When I finished the song and Lana did not have her own verse I was so annoyed, so now that Lana is actually going to be featured on the song instead of her background vocals, I'm sure the song will grown on me.  I'm also excited to see how the Karma remix fr. Ice Spice sounds.

is that remix for snow or another track?

What’s funny is, that she still isn’t anywhere to be found on this list:

Also, people like Ariana, SZA, Rihanna and Billie among others can still make the top 10 of the “most streamed artists” lists with a FRACTION of the promo or quantity of released content.

Taylor literally made shit up to tear down her peers and encouraged her ratty fans to bully people she has a personal problem with. 💀

She actively tried to sabotage POC competition cause they tend to be statistically more successful in terms of streaming numbers.

She's not the nice girl you’re seeing in her. WAKE THE FUCK UP.

    CALM THE FU*K DOWN.

Okay sorry hun im realllllllllllly not feeling this take. I dont think lana cares that much about how “good” her numbers are, she obviously had a vision in mind for candy necklace and this album does deal with very heavy themes. I wouldnt expect a “sexy” video for a AW where shes singing about such delicate subjects for most of the song. Maybe she’ll serve some great looks, but to say making music videos for only sad songs is a “waste” sounds a bit like a slap in the face. At this point in her career i didnt think we’d be saying that she should cater to the general public.

    Probably phrases it incorrectly.

I shoulda said moody, spooky or unnaproachable.

i don't really get why everybody is so excited and buying into this... why couldn't she/they just release the version with "more lana" to begin with? taylor already has more than enough money, it's honestly a little pathetic that she feels the need to release 100 different vinyl variants and 25 different editions of one album :rip:

It's just a very smart business decision. More streams, more money, more promo - no wonder she's the number one most streamed artist, she's got new shit dropping every month.

how is something a waste of money just because it isn’t making numbers..? i guess creating any sort of underground art is pointless to you if you think so..

Well, why would you make music videos as a pop artist if nobody will watch them?

Give it to charity. I can name more than just a few countries that could use the money.

Since I love Candy Necklace’s MV so much, I’ll never say she made the wrong choice to give this song the MV treatment :smokes:

i think the format of the MV (take an already long song and make it a 10 min mini film where the song is paused) surely has played a big role in the numbers… I haven’t checked for FIILY and the greatest, but I don’t remember this double MV having made an impact. Besides, she went down the concept route rather than the « classic MV » one.

Like you said, A big-budget for a&w could have been a better choice, even if it’s a very long song.

The music industry doesn’t seem to really know if MV are a good investment right now, in the streaming and TikTok age. They don’t perform as well as they used to.  Other big artists don’t have as many MVs as they used to in different eras. Unless you’re an emerging (and physically cute / gorgeous) artist, the need for MVs seems to be dying, sadly.

I agree with you. Actually, I adore the CN MV - it's one of my all-time favs. But she could have done AW for promotion and THEN CN.

As for the music industry, it's very sad indeed. A music video ads an image to a song and helps people understand the music better. It has done wonders for Lana at the start.

AW is not a happy song either - make it make sense

Songs aren't divided into sed and happy. AW is sexy and intriguing and neurotic and upbeat (in the latter part) and modern.

I'm not saying she should only make videos for her happy songs. Rather, that she should avoid making them for her miserable songs.

Even Let the Light in would probably have more views than CN.

Probably a spatial audio remaster gone wrong; I see the song is on Apple's playlist for that feature

It happened a couple times with Lady Gaga too. Namely, her song "Aura" used the demo vocal takes when it was initially updated

Jesus Christ. But why Lana's past? And why remaster a song that's been out for years??

Honestly, I can't believe her luck sometimes. Could this be Ariana's revenge for Lana's post about being judged when she does something slutty unlike Ari and co?

why would anyone listen to this :toofloppy:

Because it's a good gym track?

Honestly, I don't like super slow music, and I always go back to Lana's more upbeat stuff.
