It's really hard making a nice radio vibing hit like those examples. Like really really really hard.

    i'm sure it is, bro.

But then she had so many before, like one or two on every record. It just seems like she stopped trying with Chemtrails. Which was, unsurprisingly, her first album without an entry in the Billboard 100. Then we got two more...

Like, just don't release the record until you have a bop the kids can shake their booty to. Just like High by the Beach was added last minute. I'm all for creativity, but this is a business decision.

And if you can't write one yourself, hire someone to do it. Look at what Unholy did for Sam Smith, on an album otherwise swamped with ballads.

Sorry, but I'm just not a fan of her super early stuff except Disco, Aviation and Kill Kill.

    2. Ride

    3. Video Games

she used some trap influences in OB songs so that means she has still big love to her boppier side. we can still expect more pop thing from her:pray2:

God I hope so. I get that Peppers is a bop for some, but it didn't do it for me. In my books, her only real bop on OB is Taco Truck X VB (I was mind blown), but even that has the slow beginning and is quite sad to start (Taco Truck).

So, I officially haven't gotten a bop from Lana since 2019 (Doin' Time and Don't Call Me Angel), which was 4 years ago. I'm dying :((((

For this type of rearranging I'd need to think logically. I can't have a song written/recorded in 2020 moved to an album released in 2012.

And ultraviolence as a whole doesn't mention drugs??

Well, her every record mentions drugs, that's not the point. The production of Florida Kilos is most similar to BTD, and really had nothing to do with UV's production. Also, the vocals are more Britney Spears, hence BTD vibes

I would do literally anything for this lmfao

Lmao me too! Like I would suck any dick in the world to make this happen.

Fyi I know Don't Call Me Angel isn't a good song, was only referring to its tempo and bit. Also, Lana's part is kinda dope

I don't need her on the radio since I don't listen to radio at all ever, but i would like some new bops lol unless someone wants to leak some bops we haven't heard :lolliney:

Lol. Sure, I'd be happy with just an unreleased album with Serial Killer, Ridin' and Hollywood as the first three tracks, too, and then Driving in Cars with Boys and other bops to follow!

exactly. album would be more chaos of life cycle so it would be iconic that half-afterhalf part of album is about dying and wanting gone:true:

personally i'm leaving California for NFR. it fits to more beach vibe album than witchy alt-pop/psycho americana/moody dream rock mix

nfr is all about cali, so for me, having a song called cali on it is almost imperative. I'm glad she saved it for that album. in fact, it's one of the highlight. a sad masterpice

Lolita Born to Die (Deluxe) > Unreleased - she should unrelease this hell mess and switch it with TV in Black & White final

Paradise tracks belong to it 100%:true:

All Ultraviolence tracks fit really perfect:wowcry:

    Honeymoon tracks flow is perfect:oprah3:

List for Life tracks perfectly belong to it:oprah:

Best American Record Norman Fucking Rockwell! > Lust for Life - should’ve been saved from that atrocious rework, the song would’ve shined so bright on Lust for Life

Yosemite Chemtrails Over the Country Club > Yosemite - obviously:ma:

Cherry Blossom, Nectar of the Gods, Living Legend, Dealer Blue Banisters > Unreleased - makes 0 sense on it pls unrelease them!

Jimmy, x VB Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd > Unreleased - mess

    Unreleased

    Born to Die

Serial Killer Unreleased > Born to Die

TV in Black & White Unreleased > Born to Die (Deluxe)

    Ultraviolence

Yes to Heaven (James Ford), Fine China (Rick Nowels) and Your Girl (Mastered) Unreleased > Ultraviolence (Deluxe) - should’ve been released no matter what

agree with a lot of these points. Lolita is a mess and serial killer, driving in cars with boys or ridin' shoulda taken its place. Even backfire

Your Girl being on UV is my second fav point to come out of this thread. It would have fit perfectly! It's crazy how she scrapped that and added guns and roses instead

And diddo on the Bb tracks. But then, for me, that whole album should have been scrapped

    You’ll Never Walk Alone

    Ewwwwwwww no

Literally the worst song of lana's career. God-awful vocals, terrible melody, mega lazy production. In fact, there is no production on that song. Why on earth would anyone want that song on any album? It's a football club hymn and not even a good one at that

    Taco Truck part

and I say the VB part. I'm dying for lana with beats. It's been too long.

a full album with songs like Jimmy, VB, summer bummer, summertime sadness, doin' time, high by the beach, off to the races, national anthem, don't call me angel

Can we please manifest this instead of yet another slow-burn record? We need lana on the tadio

I can't take barttttender opinions seriously since he said Lana should make a song like Old Town Road. :eartha:

well, that song is a historical success, so why not aspire to it? Lord knows Lana hasn't had a solo top 10 hit since Summertime Sadness.

also, like it or not, the super contemporary production on that song combined with rap is the most interesting product of american country music in decades. A genre that needs a contemporary uplift anywayz

If You Lie Down With Me - Chemtrails

    Yosemite/TNBAR - LFL

    Thunder - NFR

    Hollywood Bowl - Ocean Blvd

    California/Say Yes To Heaven/Hollywood/Life is Beautiful/Big Eyes/I Can Fly - Honeymoon

Agree on Hollywood Bowl, would have made the album even better. Fucking love that song! What a melody (and lyrics). It's a jewel

fucking yes i think u need

ahahah. Well, it's a pop song, about drugs, and it's got a dope beat. And it just doesn't go well with uv's rock sound even as a bonus track.

I reckon it belongs on BTD more than any other record.

I mean, even with how eclectic Lust for Life is as a record, I still think both Yosemite and Best American Record really fit with their sound. Both in the second half, they sound cohesive around tracks like BPBP or TNC, with that folk essence to them. I'm still glad both got released, and Yosemite blends greatly in Chemtrails, but I will always feel them closer to Lust for Life than to the albums they got released in.

No wonder that LFL, Chemtrails and Norman are my favourite albums of hers though, I think that sound is where she shines the most.

Very true. Although, LFL (conceptually) couldn't have handled another dreary song like Yosemite, not after Change and Heroin, it would have been to much imo.

The Next Best American record could have replaced Coachella, which I still think is the lowest point of LFL.

Let The Light In should be on Chemtrails imo

I was thinking about that too! It could have added some panache. With that track and Margaret, Chemtrails would have been an incredible record.

Dramatically announcing that she was going to close Honeymoon cause she had nothing more to "promote" just for her to come back to it, leave it open for weeks (still is) and keep pumping out more tour dates :true:

I'm with you on that. Going on and off IG for years is really tired.

Like, if you dont' feel like posting for a while, delete the app, then come back when you're feeling social. That's how I do it.

The drama of it is completely juvenile. Like, we all love her and we tolerate it, but it's making her look like a bit of a silly goose

I know I really like where she is now but I wish all that folky country music was gone :biblio:it doesn't suit her well for me

It's just boring, is what it is. While I like the folkiness of Chemtrails and it fit the themes of that album so well, like, I don't need more folk Lana.

Her voice works so much better with pop, hip-hop inspired productions, beats, rock and surf rock. For me, those are her genres (which is why I like BTD, LFL, UV and NFR the most).

  15. That's right, boys and girls (and non-binaries) of the Lanaverse, it's time to re-arrange!

    I'll begin.

The Blackest Day Honeymoon >> Ultraviolence. With its rock sound and dark themes, this track woulda fit perfectly in the second half of UV. Even more perfect when you remember the mention of a gun right off the bat in Cruel World ("You got your bible and your gun"), and Blackest Day is, in a way, a revenge song ("Carry me home, got my new car and my gun... I got you, I got you where I want you now"). As a die-hard fan of Blackest Day, this would have made UV a much stronger record (not that it's not strong anyway)

Margaret Ocean Boulevard >> Chemtrails. Folksy sound, Lana and Antonoff singing together, the super languid pace, the Midwest vibe... This would have made the short second half of Chemtrails feel hell of a lot more substantial

Florida Kilos Ultraviolence >> Born to Die. Need I explain?

Ridin' Unreleased >> Born to Die. Need I explain?

Serial Killer Unreleased >> Born to Die. Need I explain? It's certainly better than the overproduced mess that is Lolita

Hollywood Unreleased >> Honeymoon. With lyrics like "In Hollywood, I'm alive again" and the sunny LA production), it'll always be a mystery why Lana didn't add this banger to the southern gothic melodrama that is Honeymoon. Especially when you think track 1 mentions Wilshire Boulevard and this could have fit right after or just after Music to Watch Boys to. It would have done wonders to speed up the pace of this record, and made a delightful prelude to High by the Beach.

Maybe a re-issue one day, Lanita.

Any other ideas, boys and girls?
