  1. But perhaps it was necessary in order to get hold of larger collabs or certain producers. It could also become a more commercial album. Tough was then just a first step in that direction.
  2. Could it be that she's releasing Lasso under Capitol Records? I wonder, as they seem to have something to do with Tough (they sell the vinyl single in their store), as it's not Quavo's label either. But it could also mean that Lana has less control over the album this time.
  3. some single chart positions: [1] AUS: #40 GER: #38 NZL: #23 since LFL she has hardly been in the charts in these countries, only with SYTH and DCMA
  4. the video had some nice ideas, but overall it's crap
  5. From the way of her more or less regular "mandatory" postings, I think her social media presence, especially on Instagram, was or still is controlled by her label, as with most other artists (like she has to post one time a week or something). Just google "branding".
  6. Perhaps that is illusive. Although Tough belongs to his label digitally, the vinyl is distributed via Polydor, Lana's label. https://store.polydor.co.uk/products/tough-7-vinyl It looks like there was a deal between the labels. The vinyl won't be sold until September, so maybe we'll hear the song on Lasso after all. Interestingly, the vinyl will also be sold through Capitol Records, the label that was supposed to release AS&C, as mentioned yesterday in the Lasso thread. https://shop.capitolmusic.com/products/quavo-x-lana-del-rey-tough-7
  7. If it was September 20th, Lana would have announced it already so others wouldn't get in the way. I think they are waiting for other musicians to announce and will adjust accordingly, maybe September is not a must and October also possible. September 20th now seems to be off the table.
  8. interestingly, Capitol Records recently did a post on Tough https://www.instagram.com/p/C87hgGIx6pO/ On Spotify, however, the labels Quality Control Music / Motown Records are mentioned. QC was an imprint of Capitol until 2020, but is no longer, so it's a mystery to me why they feel connected to the song. P.S.: I see that they are distributing the vinyl, which confuses me even more https://shop.capitolmusic.com/collections/vinyl/products/quavo-x-lana-del-rey-tough-7
  9. Apart from what "insiders" say, what if many of the original songs have been retained? So let's say one third country covers, one third old folk and maybe only one third newly written songs?
  10. She spoke about the covers album also in Mojo in April 2021. Unfortunately, I didn't find this interview online, but an indirect mention: https://www.nme.com/news/music/lana-del-rey-says-shes-recorded-a-cover-album-of-country-songs-2885186
  11. Jack Donoghue is another follower of that account, so maybe it was his idea
  12. I hope she makes the September release, because if it comes too late, it might not be the right mood for a country album and we'll have to wait another year (or until March like for Chemtrails).
  13. Chemtrails wasn't bad, I just think the order of songs wasn't good, it goes straight down from best to worst. A better track order would certainly have done the album good.
  14. with 4.8 million views, the video already has more than Candy Necklace (which clearly deserves better) next marks: 5.3 Take Me Home Audio 7 Blue Banisters 9.9 Arcadia 12 White Dress
  15. this is not new, she followed months ago
  16. Gladiator, Lord of the Rings (Pt. 1), Harry Potter
  17. Weyes Blood - Titanic Rising
  18. suspicious silence from Lana and her team after release , poor Quavo promoting all alone
  19. she actually likes her music https://x.com/thepophive/status/1650492741858492420
