Melanie Martinez is one of those VERY FEW cases where I would like the artist to listen to the label a little more 

This is a much more accurate description of my feelings. I love love love the album. But this one single song feels unfinished and underwhelming. She should have handed it to Kinetics & One Love to fix it up for her before releasing it.

the fact that u called it ur “Spiderweb”! 

After listening through void twice in HQ (with different headphones the second time to figure out if it is just mixed weirdly) it feels very... incomplete? It sounds to me like a demo she should've taken to someone else to be finished up with new elements instead of just adding more effects. I especially find it odd how most of the song doesn't have background vocals and the basic guitar thing follows the whole song, seemingly in place of a bass line? I hope the rest of the album isn't like this, but I think pretty much all of the songs are going to have some of these same issues if they weren't fixed with Void before release. 

I like the other 12 tracks. But this is my spiderweb. 
 
Honestly after listening to it now a few times the verses are great, I just really hate the chorus. It’s lifeless, underwhelming, and stale.

Oof I woke up and the girls are fighting.

Okay after a few listens:
 
I hate Void, it’s the only song that’s a skip for me. It’s annoying and the production sucks.
 
the Contortionist is my top track, it’s just so good, perfect combination of new style and old styles of her. 
 
I wasn’t a fan of Light Shower in LQ but it’s actually really nice and the guitar reminds me so much of Hawaii Space Guitar. I think it turned into this, it’s really good. I like it more than leeches and fingers crossed. 
 
Also wasn’t a fan of Womb in LQ but it’s really addictive and I changed my mind. I think it’s a nice album closer and it’s a nice change from Evil.

Have we gotten any leaks of unreleased content since her last album released? I fell off but I miss the Ceremonials era so bad.

I would love for her to work with Sub Urban for a project, she doesn’t work with a huge amount of Producers. 
I was looking at who produced different albums/songs and she doesn’t stray very much. Especially with what she releases vs what was recorded.

Purge the poison is a bop aswell- I really don’t think Lanas evolution as a songwriter is a big leap from marinas- we have lyrics about iPhone 11s and kissing your boyfriend with Covid- both have become more “normalised” - except Marina is veering more political and Lana is more personal after attempting it during LFL

The title track is the only one I know well from the album, and I agree, done super well, and i love the high energy. It stands out but all the others must be forgettable
