  1. The writing reminds me a lil bit of taylor swift : )
  2. This question/wondering may not hold any meaning- but was i talk to jesus really named that? Or simply “Jesus”?…
  3. Would you/people agree if I commented or said that ocean blvd is a cinematic album in sound? Or at least- the most from the last 3 (starting w norman)
  4. Still my favorite Lana composition of all eternities.
  5. She has never mentioned that song on interviews… : )
  6. That’s what i thought as well… i sort of think that the accusation of lana being the person who leaked driving in cars in sept 2011 was that- her label didn’t like the idea of it being on an ep/album so she leaked it herself as she acknowledges that the composition won’t be in use of commercial meanings… Ah… my friend i’m sorry i lost it due to time and i found it from a wayback machine site…
  7. Oh yeah… i don’t know where shall i put this but lanz’s label was planning for an EP release in sept 2011… source: turnstyle interview 20/09/2011
  8. Ms. Grant and Mr. Antonoff sins shall forever be forgiven as to made this beautiful designated composition of a song…
  9. Ocean has good vocal inflection- absolutely the same technique she used in title/arcadia but a better execution… Was referencing : blue title track : i said i’m scared of the santa clarita till the diamonds the rust and the rain arcadia : the whole chorus doesn’t mean anything that i hate these compositions- they are beautiful, some of my favorites absolutely… was just pointing the funniness out of the vocal executions of those two…
  10. Great lyrics of an album… the vocals on the other hand though… it giggles me sometimes listening to her singing here…. How she went to loud to quiet in title track and Arcadia is funny- a lil bit…
  11. Right it’s dreadsome how boring this year’s leaks have been- can’t complain as we managed to have back-to-back compositions….
  12. Good idea… i would honestly think it would be something off NFR!
  13. Interview from ILikeMusic Sept 22, 2011… sorry for the long wait… : ) @lanaismamom How would you describe your music-making process? How do songs like ‘Diet Mountain Dew’ and ‘Video Games’ go from initial idea to finished track? Every one is really different. ‘Diet Mountain Dew’ I wrote at a time when I was really happy. I’d meet someone who was perfect for me. We had taken a trip to town and town, and he said “Diet Mountain Dew babe? New York City?” Then he was like, “You’re so pretty” as I smiled. For two months, I only had that line, and it wasn’t until I decided to put it into production that I fleshed out of the verse. The verse could have been anything, but the chorus, I had a long time. There’s usually only about one-fourth of the song that compels me. Something that hit home in my life. The rest of it, I just make up around it. How about sonically? What sounds drive you? To be honest, ‘Diet Mountain Dew’ and ‘Kinda Outta Luck’ aren’t even going to be on the record. I sort of put them up on the internet because I could, because they wouldn’t be on the record. In my mind, they’re sort of just fluff. The real record is different. It’s a bit darker, but it’s beautiful.
  14. How could i ever forget her… : )
  15. Sometimes I like to made ideas of Lana’s compositions that I want to see interpolated with a film, since last year… Mermaid Motel : Closer (2004) Pawn Shop Blues : Léon The Professionals (1994) Put Me in a Movie : Lolita (1997) Born to Die : The Color of Pomegranate (1969) Blue Jeans : No Time to Die (2021) Million Dollar Man : To Catch a Thief (1955) Cruel World : Euphoria (Cassie) (2022) Sad Girl : Girl, Interrupted (1999) Florida Kilos : Spring Breakers (2013) Honeymoon : Peaky Blinders (2011) God Knows I Tried : Blonde (2022) Swan Song : Romeo and Juliet (1597) 13 Beaches : The Truman Show (1998) Heroin : Valley of the Dolls (1967) Change : When the Wind Blows (1986) Norman fucking Rockwell : No Down Payment (1957) Happiness is a butterfly : Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961) Nectar of the Gods : Marilyn Monroe Strangelove : From Dusk till Dawn (1996)
  16. This show’s rendition of hope is a dangerous thing really turned the composition into a full Leonard Cohen song with that string… beautiful and theatrical
  17. What i’m about to tell is not the exact word but the statement of the point is all there👍 1. Kinda outta and diet mtn wasn’t in the favor to be placed in btd tracklist as she said those compositions were just mere fun pop songs- something in the lines… 2. What i remembered “the verse could’ve been about anything but i had the chorus for a long time. I said to my boyfriend like, “Diet Mountain Dew, New York City?” And lana’s then boyfriend “complimenting how pretty of a woman is she” which i think hence the “never was there ever a girl so pretty” line
  18. Actually i’m going to tell you now as my trip from the train to home is still quiet far *next post:
  19. Wait till i get back home… it was from an online magazine from sept 2011 that have been lost to time… i think i found the interview through a wayback machine- she also explains the creation of diet mt dew there
