I love the lyric "Because, you are like poetry in motion" so much. It's reverse personification.

I think it's really cool to get some private information regarding her view of her own public image and the media. She specifically name drops the NYT and RS (both publications she worked with during Ultraviolence era), like wow. I think there isn't much of a conversation on how she might have PTSD from the era of rising to fame and having so many blogs criticize her music and looks. Interesting she reworked this into a song about an abusive relationship, similarly one she was having with the press. I would love to ask her why she ditched the song in favor of Ultraviolence.

Hi, so I tried searching with the search bar for this topic and did not find anything but please feel free to delete it if the topic already exists.
What do you think is Lana's most bizarre/ridiculous lyric?
For me, it is the Behind Closed Doors bridge.
Everybody's at the park tonight
Everybody's at the shore
Everybody's on the street tonight
What the hell would we do that for?
Everybody's at the park tonight
But we got fireworks galore, behind closed doors
Behind closed doors
It doesn't really make any sense to me! She's saying people are out having fun, meanwhile her and her boyfriend are "too cool" to be a part of that. And what is fireworks galore? They would have to be down the shore or something to see that.

It’s okay if you’re living with your family, but there’s context to making statements and using language like “we” when that’s not the case for many people. The American government has been disastrous for the homeless population/housing market. So as someone who rents in a high cost of living area, I would be open to the idea of privatizing it.

bogdan liked a post in a topic by Strangelove in Fans suffering from "Unreleased Syndrome"
I didn't know what to name the thread but recently online on YouTube and IG I have noticed what I call 'Unreleased Syndrome'. It is similar to the placebo effect or other behaviors that examine people reacting to false information.
My first example would be Architecture. When it leaked the reception from fans online was very positive and had people looking forward to the album. Now that it is released in its final format, fans say they like the unreleased version better.
Another example is the Venice Bitch demo she released. I have noticed the same attitude toward the demo version being better than final. A lot of times I read on YouTube and here "this should've replaced the released version." When Black Beauty was released I remember many fans expressing their disappointment with the released version.
So now at this point, I think a lot of the sentiment toward unreleased music being "better" is because of what I'm calling Unreleased Syndrome. Essentially because fans see that a song is unreleased, they become under the impression any variant of the song afterward is inferior. In reality the released version is better or would've been actually more liked among fans if she kept it unreleased in favor of the released version.
A contemporary example is this prank. Basically the prank had low quality shoes masked as high end, designer shoes. Because people assigned a certain quality to the items they can be heard calling the shoes "high quality" when in reality they were from Payless. Below is the video.
The funny thing about this experiment is that the opposite placements would have had the same effect. If people walked into a designer store masked as a off-brand store, they would probably not notice the higher quality of the designer garments. Similarly fans can dismiss (mistake) the high quality released music for lower quality music as they can hear the unreleased versions.
I would be interested for there to be some kind of study where 100 Lana fans listened to two versions of a song (unreleased then released) and picked which one they liked better versus 100 Lana non-fans. I honestly believe the non-fan group would choose the released versions each time, or it would be 50/50, because they are unbiased.
I think there are so many factors as to why this happens. I think the driving factor is the human instinct to go "What if...?" in many situations when it is unreasonable. I think there is something else called Impression Bias where people are less likely to identify a positive choice when surrounded by other negative choices. But maybe some users here can better explain some of the elements at play. This is not exclusive to Lana fans... I think it very common in a lot of media whether it be film, video games or other musicians.
Have you ever suffered from Unreleased Syndrome? What do you think on this phenomenon?
Wikipedia article detailing Soviet nostalgia linked below. I was reminded of Surf Noir's comment about recency bias. It's worth a read in the context of this conversation.

I always catch myself surprised when I read things like these and see words like “we”. Are you a homeowner? Live rent free? Rent? HCOL or LCOL? The government already has a monopoly on the housing market for people in places such as New York City. The government is more responsible for high home and rent prices than “Wall Street”. These are all things most people already know from where I live, though. Perhaps you’re somewhere else or living rent free in a LCOL area. I’m not sure.

Having a college degree doesn’t mean you’re smarter than someone else. The dumbest people I’ve met usually have at least a bachelor’s.
Hispanic people in the USA tend to vote Democrat and are the least likely group to go to college.
Will the “I went to college so I’m more politically aware than you” idea die when all of their jobs get replaced with AI?

This recent escalation is a great reminder of how lucky I and others are to live in a Western country.
USA needs to stop sending money to Israel (and every other country) and start using it to address the problems existing here.
Do people think social media posts will really change the outcome of this conflict or is just the usual virtue signaling? If you care about the disenfranchised so much go out to your OWN community and donate your time.

It's interesting to see the public reaction to Kanye West who spoke negatively about Zionism and Jewish influence in politics as we are seeing with this current conflict versus the public reaction to the said conflict.
Kanye is similar to Lana. It takes a long time before what they said is digested properly by the GP.

This looks like they’re in Alabama. Great couple; I love them. It’s nice to see Lana with a normal person unlike Taylor Swift or most celebrities. She’s really down to Earth and so many of her newer fans hate that.

That's really weird and wrong to take that phrase out of context when I literally said that "women who get abortions our of callousness or selfishness" is NOT REPRESENTATIVE of the population and that it is wrong for conservatives to hyper focus on that. Plz just be thoughtful and intelligent.

In her defence, she’s just bringing up a valid talking point that corresponds to the conversation you’re trying to initiate — which, by the way, I understand and can appreciate. I don’t think there’s as much middle ground, honestly, as many conservative value systems maintain the idea of pro-life and so advocate for and champion the delegitimization of abortion as a right. It certainly persists, even if people are not abrasive in their approach. And anecdotally speaking, people let their beliefs slip in everyday conversation, so I do think there is a lot of division on the issue that also stems from sacred versus secular schools of thought (the former obviously having a large overlap with conservatism - but that’s a whole other conversation).
Oh I definitely agree, don’t get me wrong. I just think it’s less covert now than maybe it used to be.

because it was written by republicans. that doesn't mean the policies are popular or representative of the average republican. I don't think the average republican even knows what project 2025 is. I think it's mostly popularized by democrats' reactions.

the fact that project 2025 Is too outlandish for the republican nominee is a good sign it is not representative but really a marginal population that liberals sensationalize. similar to how some conservatives act like Antifa is representative of the average democrat.
