Assuming she doesn’t go full out country (I bet it’s more of a hybrid genre album, that mixes in ballads, Americana, folk and maybe even a few covers), this really isn’t a huge shift for her. Creatively, it allows her to focus in. Ocean Blvd was all over the place, not in a bad way, but here are can channel her voice into a more specific direction. When I think of recent records like Chemtrails and Banisters, she was starting to go in this direction. Several of those songs had a folksy, bluesy feel. Ocean Blvd didn’t necessarily expand upon that much, but some of the tracks had folksy moments. Basically, if she goes “country,” but with songs that feel like White Dress, Violets for Roses or Paris, Texas, I can totally live with that. I find a hard time believing she’s going to take a hardcore turn into some deep country $hit.

Wut? She did a bunch of country last year and where did she go wrong? I personally can’t stand most country, but I genuinely liked most of the country stuff she’s been doing. It seemed really random at first, but I could sense that it was really important to her. Whether it’s a creative shift or just a new area she’s exploring, I support whatever motivates and inspires her.

That much cuntry music on one record Jk, I’m sure I’ll love it. I like her country collabs/covers better than a lot of her early hip hop collabs.

I hope so… Part of me thinks maybe not, because her schedule takes her to a lot of international locales this year and she’s got so much going on. While the other part of me is delulu and she did say that things are about to get crazy for a long time… If last year taught us anything, it’s that her tour dates are usually not announced until a few weeks or maybe a month or two before scheduled. So, if she does plan on playing more this summer, we may not know for a few more months.

Tickets just went on sale for US & international dates this year. Has anyone seen her live recently? I haven’t been her biggest fan over the last two records, but I feel like it would still be a show I would enjoy. Avril between 2004-2013 was one of my top artists, but I do agree that she didn’t mature or evolve much. Miley is an example of almost doing the complete opposite in terms of artist evolution. The only problem is that the closest date scheduled is in Nashville and I don’t think I’d go that far to see a concert (unless it was Lanita of course).

I had this beautiful dream that Lana and Rob performed together. They played Lost at Sea, the track, but they were alone out on a boat, far out of sight of anything else. The sea was calm, they played at a quiet volume and it was a whole mood
