I honestly don’t have a strong opinion on the TikTok ban. It’s easy to have an emotional response, but I may need to read more about the reasons why, including safety and national security risks. I’m generally all about free speech and avoiding censorship, but I’d like to be more educated on this topic before “picking sides.” Assuming it’s Trump vs. Biden, it’s a no-brainer for me. In a perfect world, I wish we didn’t have a duopoly and had more political parties in the US. Unfortunately, voting third party or writing in someone is just giving away your vote in this election. There’s too much at stake and Trump is too big of a threat to put back into office. You can say that Biden is old, out of touch, too moderate, too establishment, not the best with foreign affairs, etc., but I’d take him over Trump any day. Messaging is key, because if TikTok is banned, that is going to piss off a lot of people. Especially younger voters.

Mixed feelings on this ruling. To be honest, it’s probably best to let the voters decide. If Trump got kicked off the ballots in select “blue” states, we might be looking at another Jan 6 situation. I’m not condoning that type of behavior, but vote his ass out if you don’t want him to be re-elected. This was a unanimous vote by the court too, so it wasn’t a decision along party lines.

What a tragedy. What’s almost as bad is I’m from Oklahoma and I barely heard about this. I only found out from someone’s story on IG and then saw this post. If you search for it, the only story you get is from that article you cited. I’m not doubting it all. It’s just extra weird there’s barely any coverage about it. Even from local stations. Everyone knows it, but one of the biggest award shows totally snubs her? After some reflection, I think they all knew she wasn’t going to win. They didn’t want her to. The consolation was to give her a bunch of nominations to try to lessen the blow, give the appearance that she had a chance. Pity nominations. The thing with Taylor, I really lost a lot of respect of her dragging Lana up and addressing her like that. I still respect her as an artist, but the award show, her behavior and the “voting,” it’s all a bunch of fake ass shit.
