i don't really care what her political views are, what she believes in private is not at all my knowledge and not my business, i love her music, and that's what is important to me

Born to Die - Honeymoon was an incredible and untouchable run of albums. But everything shes put out recently (COCC - OB) has been so disappointing that it actually makes me miss Lust For Life era which I wasn't even a huge fan of back then.
NFR is good but it's missing everything that made me fall in love with her music in the first place. It's the last album from her I can listen to front to back.
Every album release I get more and more bored, they all have a handful of good songs but as far as overall replay value goes they just don't have it for me. The music she's making now is where she's at with her artistry and people seem to love it but idk... It makes me sad lol.
And that T Swift collab kinda ruined being a fan of her. A bunch of Swiffers suddenly became fans and idc what anyone says there was a noticeable change in the fandom after that happened. Lipsters have always been crazy but in a very different and more interesting way. Now a lot of the content is just trash because a bunch of locals (or whatever term people use now) are suddenly fans.
And I agree with what someone said up thread, I think a lot of people talking about she looks sooooo good now (she ALWAYS has) mostly think so because she lost weight. Idc I liked thick Lana, she's gorgeous and she has her own style no matter what weight she is...

I’m sorry but nobody with the right mind wants some contrived dumb ass shit like we got with chromatica like that was so pandering to a certain demographic and just absolutely horrible. I hope this new album is a call back to the fame monster days.. I don’t want any features I don’t want that fake ass kindness warrior shit I want her to explore dark themes and elaborate upon them in an artistic manner that isn’t reductive to her character that it’ll have her fucking Jojo siwa dancing in the desert again while being filmed on an iPhone 11 LMFAOO

Pontiac Blues liked a post in a topic by BethDufreneOnTheBayouByYou in Lana to present Jack Antonoff with "Producer of the Decade" award at the 8th annual Variety Hitmakers event - December 7th, 2024
The only way we’ll get news about the album from this event is if she does press interviews. I’d be surprised if she talked about it during her speech, feels kind of tacky.

can you imagine a song on the album that was something like “before he cheats” i would die

I mean, vaping and smoking like a chimney certainly doesn't help lmao.
But I anyway, singing amazingly is not all that important in pop music. Just look at Madonna. It's more about the tone, melody, phrasing, and conjuring the right atmosphere, which Lana is a master of.
I don't think she's wowed me with her vocal proficiency per se since that high note on NFR (the song). But I don't care for that kind of stuff anyway (otherwise, I would listen to Mariah Carrey.)
The only issue i have is perhaps that Lana doesn't sound as confident perhaps as she did back on BTD and Paradise. She'd open a song with a razor-sharp line like "My pussy tastes like pepsi cola", and it had so much sass and personality.
Now it's all becoming a lot softer and demure. Which I still love. But I kinda wish she would mix it up a little vocally and lyrically. Especially with her album openers, which are feeling more and more samey (sad ballads).
I guess I miss her confidence and sense of fun on the last few records?
I think the super harsh criticism of her early work has scared the bejeezus out of her and she's playing it more safe, with tones and lyrics she know work well and won't get her dragged through dirt.

I do really like NFR! and some of the songs on that album resonate a lot with me. But production wise I have to agree. People say it’s her magnum opus but hello UV exists!!! That’s her best album in my opinion. Never tired of that album, always find something new when I listen to it. As someone who makes music, I think UV is her most exciting and it inspires me a lot in my own creative endeavours

Please no more voice demos. Can't imagine anything lazier for a musician to do. It's like a writer publishing their voice memos where they literally told a random story that popped into their head without story- nor sentence- level editing. It's a fine experiment for a song or two, but we've done that, we have it in the can, let's move on.

I meant an artistic flop, she didn’t even really write it lmao I really don’t care about how it performed on the charts or anything, I only really care about her artistic output and Tough was an extremely weak moment

It’s so short? I expected it to go on longer, unless this is some kind of radio mix. It’s not terrible, it’s simple and fun, and that’s all that’s needed sometimes. It should’ve been released with the single just to create some buzz.
