    Still praying for:
"There Were Stories Of A Church In The Forest Up North"
I don't know why, it sounds so mysterious and Southern Gothic
That's true! If it's a song then it could be Burning Desire meets Honeymoon level sultry but it can also be Fingertips meets Hope Is A Dangerous Thing level epic poem. I'm here for both cases not gonna lie!

Lana had been lying since she said “ultraviolence out in May” idk how you expect her to get any better after 10 years of constant lies

the only thing we can hope for is that this album is in production, but I feel like it’s not even submitted yet

I was really inspired this past hour and made an edit for The Right Person Will Stay inspired by the aesthetics of Southern Gothic. Although, the edit is not really good:

    An alternate version:

Then, I also made one for There Were Stories Of A Church In The Forest Up North if it was a title:

As a cam girl I like to imagine that the woman I idolize has dabbled in SW a little bit, even if it was just something unofficial and casual like a sugar baby relationship. It doesn’t make a difference to me either way, but I love when she sings about that kinda stuff because it makes me feel like she wouldn’t judge me at all for what I do if she knew me. I never did get the “oh she was definitely a stripper” vibe when I saw her on the pole in Tropico though, she didn’t do any pole tricks or anything that would tip me off to her being experienced on the stage. She still looked sexy as hell doing it though. She’s such a multifaceted being and we will never know the half of it. I love her.

Like other people in the thread said... we would have known by now - like fr we would have known by 2012 when her whole life blew up online

Lizzy Grant (and even Lana.. ) was a pathological liar and there's tons of proof of it - nothing wrong with lying to make a good song, but I feel like once you've listened to her for a long time it's pretty easy to distinguish between real life and fantasy within her songwriting. Not even saying this from an omg i know everything about her life!!!!! standpoint, her life is VERY well documented online and it's just....... easy to find out what she was doing every month for the past 25 years

I kinda have to disagree if she sang about it and portrayed it in videos

    Why not though?

There's absolutely no shame in any of this

? She’s talked about it in released songs aswell as unreleased, even cosplaying a prostitute in the ride video, we’re not digging up her medical records
If she didn’t want to talk about her experiences or people to dissect her lyrics she wouldn’t of released them

I have also thought about this and I find it interesting but I'm too lazy to analyse lyrics but I think its more of a fantasy thing, I see a pattern where even in songs that are "autobiographical" there are details mixed in that don't work/make sense and honestly I think her song writing is "autobiographical" but has details mixed in that are more metaphors or just having fun

It's not about her being a woman. It's about her being infinitely removed from Trump's anti-trans, anti-gay, anti-immigrant, anti-POC, etc. agenda. The anti-abortion thing is the only thing she's connected to and she has the wealth to avoid that if she ever needed it. It's a luxury for her to oppose Trump because her life doesn't depend on that. It's a luxury for her to marry a Trump supporter who literally wants to commit violence against transgender people because she doesn't have to live with the consequences of people like that being around.

Her ideals mean nothing since it's not like she ever acted on them. For all the shit Taylor Swift gets, at least she actually opposed Trump when it mattered. Lana pretended to be a witch then married a man who loves him.

I love Lana but I've had to divorce that from my personal opinion of her as a person. And no celebrity is above critique.

yes, they are. her beliefs reflect who she chooses to align herself with; what she chooses not to say. white women are defined by historically choosing the comfort of their privilege and the status quo over disarming the oppressor. Using the facade of feminine grace and quietness to preserve power and capital.

“I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizens Councillor or the Ku Klux Klanner but the white moderate who is more devoted to order than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says, “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can’t agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically feels that he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by the myth of time; and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of goodwill is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.”

If this album is a bit of a reset on her persona / totally new direction after the last 3 records then I hope she works with someone new on the album artwork. She’s reinvented herself numerous times through her career: from Lizzie to cinematic sadcore Lana to west coast grunge rock and roller to Honeymoon’s lush old Hollywood jazz singer to 60’s hippie beginning to self reflect on her place in the world to deeply introspective poet who can’t get off her piano. I hope she puts effort into the visuals again even if (actually, especially if) TRPWS is an acoustic guitar, stripped down album.

Oh god please, this is such a desperate take.

If you are marrying someone who supports the Trump agenda and makes videos in which he repeats hateful MAGA speaking points your ideals are obviously not really opposing them. It's not about agreeing to disagree about pineapple on pizza at this point.
