no chance in hell is the album dropping in may. She only gave us a faux album release because she knows she messed up with announcing it in the first place.
 
no single, no label confirmation, no cover, no insider scoop, no new registered songs names, no website code change - no nothing. All we have is lana's words and 90% of the time, that means sh*t.
 
i'll believe that the album is coming either when interscope confirms it or when a single drops. Until then, i'm taking everything with a grain of salt. 

I'm feeling pretty confident about the new album, actually.
 
Lana said that she felt like she kinda lost herself - and her musical identity in a way - while working on the new project. Then, in another interview, she mentioned that she doesn't want the album to be "half-cooked" and if this means that she's going to go back to the original (more stripped-down) concept, then so be it. And I think that this is exactly what happened. She probably started working on "country (pop)" songs this year and they either felt too "mainstream"/"conventional" or made her feel uncomfortable while singing them (someone who attempts to go country, but fails/gets unfairly compared to other -country- artists; Lana being criticised for following certain "trends" in contemporary music etc.). She did tell us that she has songs that she *loves* and I think that "The right person will stay" with its 13 tracks is going to be a curated selection of the best of that work. Besides, Antonoff said that the album was "fucking brilliant" in early 2024. This might also explain her reluctance/uncertainty regarding the album's progress throughout the year. She probably ditched the stuff that made her question the entire project and herself all these months. 
 
I  really love the "Henry" snippet which already sounds far more melodic, lyrically playful and, well, overall better than the majority of COCC and BB (and the audio is so damn crisp!). 

My concern is this album will make COCC sound like a full live band, lush orchestral, masterpiece of production 

Tbh if she switches the piano for the guitar I guess I will be content with it. We got so many piano ballads over the last years and if she switches the piano for some guitar that would be nice

  But that doesn't mean I don't want some more bombastic songs again sometime in the future  or some bombastic surprises on the TRPWS (looking at you Fenway Restart The Tape Lake Placid Back To Basics Past Present Slay Intro)

It's beautiful when you connect How To Disappear's "I'm always gonna be right here", to the title of the album. like a true water sign

This has been on repeat for me for the past few months after i ignored it for years, criminally underrated and arguably the only bop on the album

this should've been a surprise release idk

When she meant by saying “by the way the party’s December 18” is that henry will drop on Wednesday Dec 18 and the fans will get to have a party this day 

i’d be happy with the preorder, cover and tracklist and the ACTUAL release date and i won’t complain for a few months
