Lana must forget that she's famous and that people are obsessed with her. A bitch literally broke into her house and stole her Jaguars, twice! Then a psycho was in there chilling and reading her Satanic books

Okay, that's all, folks. Is Tayor a Lana rip off or just a huge fan? Discuss!

I'd say she even looked "fucking crazy"

    This thread is gold.
I remember thinking that I like Wildest Dreams for like 5 minutes & then I realized that it's only because it's a Without You ripoff
I'm weirded out that more media sites didn't create major drama bc of the similarity of those two songs, the Ride copy etc. If it was the other way - Lana getting ~inspired~ by Taylor, they would drag her to hell to and back.
Fuck that fake bitch and her red lipstick

(sorry, I just dislike Swiftie in general)

People like to say Lana's dad bought her career, but nobody pays attention to Taylor's rich-ass parents, who are so rich they moved across the country when Taylor was 14 so she could pursue her dream of being a country music singer.

And yet people try to label her an "underdog:"

Her parents even wanted to groom her for business.

      Truly a reverse Warholian expedition.

Let's top it off with this quote:

Too bad your music is neither.

Her dad probably supported her or one of her boyfriends at the time.
Or maybe she had a little side job as a waitress, i think she may have mentioned that once.

she lies a LOT and makes up a lot of stuff in her songs...he's probably not a real person, or at the very least an amalgamation of different boys that shes dated

Ultraviolence is a moody narco swing masterpiece

When the album came out I didn't appreciate it because I was expecting a Born To Die sound. But over time and after many listens I finally understand Ultraviolence. I love what it represents as a whole album. I feel like Lana really had a vision from the lyrics and the videos. The funny thing is Honeymoon helped me to realize how wonderful Ultraviolence is. Honeymoon feels unfinished and like there wasn't a true vision with the album.

    Basically, Ultraviolence is amazing

I don't think this thread is unnecessary at all. If someone wants to talk about Ultraviolence then we can talk about it. No one is going to find the old Ultraviolence thread so who cares. It was more unnecessary for you to say that

and that's your opinion? i'm allowed to have a different one.

um, go listen to OTTR and tell me there's no life and energy in it. i didn't even mention BTD specifically, lol. either way, BTD isn't a perfect album but at least it isn't boring and it tells a story. and i'm not only referring to her released catalog, but also her vast amount of unreleased songs. she is capable of so many different genres and productions and atmospheres--why is she settling for music to sleep to? her older slow, sparse songs at least had interesting lyrics.

also, i'm not talking about the lyrics on paper. they are just not interesting in general. more than that, they are sometimes lazy. i agree that it is a combination of all those elements that make her songs great, but that's the problem. she's missing a vital element on honeymoon. she even admitted that the album was more about vibes than lyrics and it shows. it's disappointing for me because they are a big part of why i became so interested in her music.

i hate to say it, but i'm so over honeymoon. i have been for a long time.

with her other songs/albums, the lyrics told stories, had interesting references, added to the mystery of lana del rey. there were things to unpack and analyze. there was life in her music, playfulness. all of that is sorely lacking on honeymoon.

in some ways it reminds me of what happened to tori amos. she kept producing her own albums with the same musicians and same yes men and no one to challenge her. and what happened? after awhile--blandness, shitty production, lack of inspiration, etc. both lana and tori prefer to be in total control but that's not the way to grow as an artist if you remain set in your ways.

jeez, as you said there's nothing going on with the Honeymoon era as of now... There is no point in creating lots of different threads to talk about stuff when most people won't even look at them. Besides people talking about magnum opus or whatever actually has something to do with Honeymoon. We're just trying to bring life to the Honeymoon thread/era cause its not breathing.

I think Religion is a more interesting and dynamic song than people give credit. It utilizes Spanish guitar and the like, but her vocals give it such a Western paint ... it's excellent.
