i havent had any issues with them, i mean are they annoying? yes. but it seems as though the benefits (at least knowing the benefits now) outweigh that they are a minor inconvenience at worst. so id say keep them! especially if it’s a little less stress for you :] also 2 dollars a month is super fair for not getting any ads (although reading about international users i see how it could be an issue) but i agree with @takeitdoen on having guests have the pop up ads if anyone is to have them

i dont think there’s a storyline in the same way as cry baby but i do think there is a little something there, especially chronologically where we see marina transition into this character (cutting her hair in pt 1, putting on the blonde wig in pt 2 and seemingly running away to become a new person, pt 3 recognizing that shes electra heart now, and pt 4 and 5 is her living the life of electra and exploring these female archetypes). obviously the videos after subarbiea are her playing the electra heart character too but the concept of exploring these archetypes seemed to die. which is a real shame since she had so much going for it as seen by the casper balslev shoot and her iconic tumblr and seemingly so much inspiration (marilyn, cindy, britney, sylvia, old hollywood, americana, old films shows and books, etc.) were endless. anyway sorry for my rambling sksks the electra heart aesthetic was just...untouchable! lana and marina really need to take some notes from ms melanie tho cause as amusing as it is to see her use everything she has at least we see her attempting to use all her potential when will lana and marina make a vinyl ep of extra songs that didnt get physical releases from their era?? evol, just desserts, living dead, eh, lhc, and bts are just collecting dust and for what??? for what????

The fact that Electra died by sleeping pills and she didn’t make a VOTD mv is just... There was so much there. I actually think there was a lot more potential in Electra Heart visually that she just didn’t go through with (especially when it comes to the archetypes since we didn’t really get much for housewife and teen idle). Budget might be an issue as well, of course. But some songs that she used her budget for didn’t really give us anything *story* wise. I always felt like after SUBARBIEA her vision for EH that she had kinda died. Not to say the videos after aren’t good or don’t have depth but parts 1-5 definitely had more of a focus on the idea of taking these archetypes, this character, and trying to understand them- a study in identity and illusion if you will.

anyway since theres no new news yet i would just like to say that...homewrecker, teen idle, and votd ? deserved a primadonna esque video treatment. idc how many years it’s been since electra hearts death dig that bitch up from her grave and give it to me!!!!

Understandable. but I think the point is that there is already an underrepresentation of autistic characters along with autistic actors and combined with someone who isn’t autistic writing an autistic character based on research from a group that’s very demeaning towards autism. and a lot of it comes down to misrepresentation for a group of people who already face discriminations. In comparison to say, jules from euphoria who is a trans character being played by a trans actress and while euphoria isnt written by a trans person hunter (jules’ actress) was able to give her own input based on her own experiences as a trans woman. what im gettin at is proper (and more) representation is needed in both characters and the people who play them in cases like this which is only one of the many reasons why this film is so distasteful.

its quite sad that so much talent went to waste (obviously this has been said before) - but her music really is a gem. i've been listening to her more and more recently and knowing there's a very low likelyhood of getting any future projects is a bummer. but at the same time the things she's said, done, and how she generally acts is...messy and i don't know if she deserves the coin skskks. also- once the whole cat skull fiasco was explained i can empathize with her reasoning for wanting to keep the skull, you can tell she really cherished that cat (although its still a little eyebrow raising to say the least).

I’ve never fully understood that either. For me it really hyped up the album even more so, like I was being fed crumbs and now I’m getting the whole cake. Which is one of the reasons why Paradise/UV/HM was my favorite eras release wise. Paradise: We got the Paradise Edition trailer that gave us samples of each song. All short and sweet enough to get a taste of what was to come. Rides music video release. Blue Velvet MV with H&M. Original Bel Air MV Album release Burning Desire (side note: still pissed this wasn’t on the album) MV. TROPICO announcement/promo TROPICO trailer And finally TROPICO (although the release for TROPICO could have been better since it was like a year since paradise was released sksks but I give it points for being a beautiful, wonderful peace of art that had a storyline and it really finished that born to die/paradise lana well). Ultraviolence: Album announcement West Coast release and later music video album art and tracklist reveal Shades of Cool MV At some point a cute little album trailer that included the prior songs and Ultraviolence and Brooklyn Baby. Although I feel like the era could have turned out better had it not been for the “I wish I was dead” thing and other controversies considering we never got the original UV video and instead got a homemade one which was cute. This era also felt really short which is unfortunate. Honeymoon (her best release roll out imo): Honeymoon audio released HBTB MV Cover art and tracklist release Terrence Loves You single the iconic honeymoon hotline Honeymoon Sampler MTWBT video Freak video after that her rollouts haven’t been that great..regarding push backs and leaks and things like that, some of which isnt really lanas fault. anyway things like this actually help make the album better for me, the bits and pieces. I always do my best not to overplay singles before a release though but even then it doesn’t really ruin it for me. but lanas latest album releases just haven’t had the same appeal to me and I’m not so sure why (apart from this era but im still a bit baffled by that horrendous cover art..) anyway if anyone reads this im sorry i got high then went to sleep and just woke up even though my meds are supposed to helo me stay asleep sksksksk

honestly, i love aka and i really wish i had been around during that era. there’s something so pure, honest, and just lovable about that work - especially her homemade videos. just the idea that she was looking up clips or just using stuff she had saved already and lip syncing her own songs to put out on YouTube for the world to see, despite not having a massive following (yet) is precious...
