my friends were rly into her when don't smile at me came out but based on her persona I thought she was a rapper and didn't look into her but then i heard COPYCAT and was amazed
 
so ive slowly been getting into her music and bury a friend just SEALED the DEAL i love this experimental creepy sound and tbh the galloping beat + whisper vocals gives me Brite Lites vibes

Tbh, I'm gonna approach from this from the point of view of Lana in some fashion and try to make some sense of her. 
 
I think the three buzz singles were just that. For the fans. She knows how impatient the vast majority of her fanbase gets. She probably thought it was a good idea, but it's turning out it may not have been. 
 
I truly don't think the era has started yet. I think it will in February, but I do agree with some others when they say that the three songs we have (and snippets) are just for the super fans to be in on her process, imo. The actual era and its aesthetics (all the press and the interviews, etc.) haven't really started, I don't think.
 
So in short, I think some are calling her lazy at this point when she's not even doing the actual work yet. I think it's just a complete confusion thrown by way of not communicating clearly what the three singles were really meant to be. I think it was just to be cool. ("Here guys, super fans. Don't leak anything. Love you. The era will start in February.")

I’m really looking forward to HtD. I really like the song with straight vocals and keys but I don’t think I can handle another Hope Is a Piano Demo style production. The ambiance and Christmas-vibe from the mix they were working on in the livestream is a lovely touch, just hope they found a less prominent/grating beat.
