Tbh I think this thread should be deleted but I don't know how to do it, and I'd remake one with proper files. I need to find the time to make the blue version ASAP. The pink one is available here, it normally is printable on A3 paper if I remember correctly! The booklet is 12cmx12cm but there's bleed lines so it miiiiiight fit on A4 but very tight, I honestly don't remember but if you take it to a print station they will do it for you and I highly suggest that as otherwise you'd have to calculate everything and been there done that, it's a nightmare!

    Edit: nope, def A3!

  5. xcx liked a post in a topic by sparklrtrailrheaven in How Do You Relate To Lana ...
I relate to Lana on a much simpler level than a lot of you, but I think I'll still post it here-- also, kudos to everyone who shared on this thread (especially those who were so brutally honest about themselves! That's not easy  )

The aesthetics of Lana's music and visuals are what initially drew me into her music, and are likely what have held me the most fascinated-- like Lana (and especially Lizzy!) I've always been fascinated (read: obsessed) with kitsch, Americana, and white-trash living-- probably why songs like Trash Magic and Pin-Up Galore rank among my favorites. Maybe it was growing up in a mobile home (in the American South, no less) that gave me this fixation, and so I connect very deeply with the images that run through her early work. I don't think it's any coincidence that trailer-trash Lizzy is my favorite era of Lana's work, and that the happiest time in my life was when I lived in a trailer that we decorated up with Christmas lights year-round. (No kidding-- looking back, we also had a hallway we called the "Florida hall" because it was so beach-kitsch-- and it looked straight out of a Lizzy vid-- teal walls, curtains with palm trees and flamingos all over it-- the works.)

So, videos like the ones for 'Gramma' give me an almost painful sense of nostalgia, not only for the times when I lived like she did, but also for a time I'll never get to live in-- the same idealised, past world that Lana has written about-- one where JFK is still king, the open road is still alive, and motels still have their own seedy glamour, among other things. Maybe it all sounds pretentious, but I am so genuinely happy that Lana has recorded and created such a wealth of material that speaks to me on such a personal level. Do any of you connect to these aesthetics and visuals the same way? (If so, hit me up, because we're moving into the nearest trailer park ASAP )

Now, y'all better start leaking some more 2007/8 Lizzy for me after this heartfelt piece of work-- I need white-trash Lana in my life

I was just listening to this song while making a sandwich. Gosh, it’s such a good song. It’s so tender and heartbreaking. It’s an especially great song for nighttime. I love the loose quality it has, how it sounds like it was just a quick and spontaneous thing, recorded one night in a sudden flash of inspiration, like it just needed to come out. I love how understated but unique the backing track is with that incongruous drum machine and the little weird noises. I wouldn’t change a thing about it.

These lyrics, i think, are some of her most heartfelt. It’s just chock-full of such simple yet powerful and poignant lines that i think a lot of people can relate to. I especially love the line “the panic and the fear.” Anyone who suffers from panic attacks knows that it’s one of the worst feelings in the world.

Doesn’t the chorus sound like something you’ve heard before in another life? That melody seems to perfectly capture the song’s sentiments, that sense of feeling trapped and that realization that you have to do something, make some sort of change in your life. Your dead-end relationship has sort of become your comfort zone. You think you can change the relationship or even the other person, but you know you’re just lying to yourself.

Her falsetto in this song has a strange quality to it, it’s almost hysterical. And at the end when she abruptly comes out of it back into her lower register (as she’s repeating that she’s done being afraid), it makes me think of, like, when you’ve been crying for hours and you just suddenly snap out of it because you just physically cannot cry anymore.

    What a fucking song.

  9. Lust liked a post in a topic by sparklrtrailrheaven in Is Lana Declining?
While I'm not the biggest fan of Honeymoon, or the Honeymoon era in general, I certainly wouldn't say Lana is declining.

It seems to be a natural phenomena in even the greatest artists' careers-- after a meteoric rise to fame, it's common for an artist to take some time to slow down. UV's release and heavy praise hasn't even been two years ago yet. Lana went from being a no-name singer with LDRAKALG in 2010 to a huge sensation in 2012 with BtD that continued into 2014 with UV.

In essence, she hasn't slowed down since 2010-- if not longer. She's produced three flawless albums in 6 years (AKA, BtD, UV), a host of amazing music videos, and such a wealth of incredible unreleased material.

I think we all forget that Lana's only been on the major music scene for such a short time, so isn't it understandable if she's producing some lighter fare? Yeah, HM and the HM videos may be a little insubstantial, (insubstantial, at least, in comparison to the past three albums/eras)  but I think that it isn't a permanent decline she's on.

She's taking an artistic breather. Give her space, give her time, and when she's ready, we'll get something great.

Mods - wasn't sure where to put this, chose this for visibility, feel free to move!

Hi baes, so here's a little update on the most-awaited Interviews section! Basically, @@WhiteHydrangea, @, @@Valentino, @@evilentity, @ and me are mashing work like crazy and have advanced A LOT on the section. I'm delighted to announce with confidence that if we go on like this it should be open pretty soon

However, there are some things we need in order to progress that we aren't able to do, so this thread will be dedicated to requests from the team for things like translations and if needed more, just as the thread previously made by @. If you for example know the language required for a translation and have a bit of time to dedicate Lana, it would be extremely appreciated. We will indicate you how to post your translation so that it's YOU that posts it and you get proper credit for translation as we know how tedious it can be and you deserve recognition for your help and time! And of course, you will also get credit for any kind of help you provide as this is the beauty of the project and we're particularly aware of that

This section is building up to be the most complete, the most anally organized, and by far the most beautiful Lana interviews archive ever created, and you can be part of the team!   Requests will start from the post below, thank you in advance to everyone
