I do get the feeling that this album is going to be her most 'on the nose' project lyrically. Maybe Marina saw everyone saying she was being too vague (such as 'there were riots in America' i know a lot of people cited that to show how washed out L+F was) so now it's going to be an overload of references in the tracks that don't leave much to be read between the lines. Obviously I hope I'm wrong but i wish a good balance of explicit and implicit references were made in the lyrics.
 
Also the Man's World instrumental sounds like a EH song if it went through slight Froot production (i just can't work out what song of hers it already sounds like) at least the vocal melody is interesting and her voice sounds great!

Not to sound controversial but I personally think Hope is one of the weakest tracks off NFR. 

her Lust for Life moment was L+F  (cheap beats, poorly executed concept, ‘political message’ which doesn’t go anywhere)... She needs a political album in the vein of NFR with deep lyrics such as The Greatest and Hope

i always forget that froot is such a masterpiece.
 
i listened today for the first time and i'm so excited for the new era! 

If her plan hasn't changed, then M5 should be free of Jack's production. She mentioned in the Bose livestream back in April that she was working with a single female producer for the whole album à la Froot being completely produced by David Kosten

Lowkey I think her and her Clean Bandit boyfriend broke up (just me speculating) so I have faith that his production will not taint this album.  It's such a shame that Marina and Clean Bandit are amazing on their own, but the songs he produced for L+F were.... not it

It’s not a bad album but it’s probably Marina’s weakest material she has put out. If this album was done by a different artist I think they would have mastered it better than Marina. With the history of Marina’s past material, the album wasn’t dumbing down her artistic vision but rather she decreased it. We all know Marina is able to put out well cohesive and consistent albums with storylines that match with the aesthetics and instrumentations flawlessly. However this album didn’t really have much of that and it felt flat.
 
Again, it’s not a badly produced album, it just doesn’t fit with Marina’s image and style.

That's what I've been saying since release tbh. It'd be a cute Rita Ora album, but it's not something worthy of someone who created TFJ/EH/FROOT.

I would also add that L+F isn't a bad album, per sé. It's just basic for Marina's standards.
You compare it to EH, FROOT or TFJ and you can see that. However, it's still better than some other albums out there

It’s not that L + F is without good songs, it’s that all of them (even the good ones) are produced with absolutely no character or anything at all to make them interesting. The production is bland enough that it sucks the life out of even the good tracks. The album art is some of the most basic ass stuff I’ve ever seen and it suits the music. 

Imagine releasing albums like The Family Jewels, Electra Heart, and FROOT but being told that LOSER + FLOP has your best songs...a tragedy
