Capitol clearly hate(d) her and get the final say as they’ve shelved her many times before and kept her in second album limbo all this time but then there’s weird inconsistent stuff like the NTMT sound which they hated for being super alt and indie then the album cover itself which they disliked bc of the nudity yet they released the album with it? I know it wasn’t the smoothest ride for her as she said a lot of people tried to prevent its release and she had to find it herself but still it got out via them? Also Downhill Lullaby felt so random when it came out as you’d think Capitol would push for a more upbeat song for her comeback (a la Don’t Forget) and it had no accompanying video or marketing… makes me think Sky has more control than we think and just decided yep I’ll put this one out and had the power to?
