2020s was an easier way of saying late 2010s-early 2020s, but Melodrama? NFR? several of Taylor’s albums? The new 1975 record, which I actually just have a feeling is going to become a cult classic a while from now? Clairo? Masseduction? he’s all over pop music, so much so that his sound is going to be what defines late 2010s-early 2020s pop music decades from now, that’s just kind of a fact. it’s the same way Max Martin defined pop music 10 years ago

i enjoy some of jack's work - i really enjoy his stuff with st. vincent petrified bob & all, as well as melodrama, folklore/evermore & dance fever - but there's also some reallll duds and there's been a lot more duds than hits lately :xgiggle:

as hit & miss jack's production is for me i do genuinely agree that it's definitely going to be "the sound" moving forward... as much as that hurts to say :xgiggle:

The production of an album and the sound has nothing to do with each other. Saying that an album has the production level of another doesn't mean that it will sound like that one, but that the songs will be worked or elaborated at that level. In my humble opinion to say that an album has the production level of albums like: NFR, Melodrama or Honeymoon is a compliment, it doesn't mean that they will sound like that but as I said, the songs will be very well worked and detailed.

YALL remember when Doin' time was playing EVERYWHERE. 2019 was soo good.

Lorde, The 1975s and Taylor are all early 2010s.

bestie… their albums that are widely realized and accepted as their best so far and that jack produced were released in the late 2010s-early 2020s. that’s what i’m talking about

I think what defines 2020's so far is (i want to vomit even thinking about it but) those 2 taylor "folk inspired" albums, Doja cat, and those tiktok songs..

i agree, he’s definitely had more misses than hits recently. but the cohesion across his work, for better or for worse, is building a “class” of artists almost that are going to be recognized and grouped together by music listeners in the future as being iconic from this time period which i actually think is really cool

You're right, it's scary to think that Lana's legacy could be West Coast(Sped-Up) and Meet me in the Pale Moonlight:bebe:

i also dont want it to be a random song made by jack antonoff that could be sung by any of the alt girls and sound like thiers. There's a reason everyone goes back to UV and BTD, they were unique and no one could sing them like Lana did.

I need an aplogy for the Born to Die review where he said she needs to sing about female empowerment in the most condescending way possible

i still wouldn't take him seriously even if he did that because there's countless other albums that he's snubbed not to mention that he'd probably do that apology note trying not to crack up :coffee:

Ignoring the Jack discourse  :peace2:

We're getting a long album that has a bit of everything for everyone :oprah4:

I asked Asmodeus (the demon of lust) to make Miley Cyrus suffer. I am not happy with these new developments. After Miley rips off Lana's aesthetic, she bullies Lana into changing her release date. It is infuriating.
