I thought it had all those words as one title and that’s why Neil said she’s crazy for considering it?

Quote

At first, the title was definitely going to be Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, and then I fucking panicked and I went to Neil’s house and said, “I know this is fucked up, but I’ve changed the title. It’s going to now be called, ‘Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd Pearl Watch Me on Ring a Bell Psycho Lifeguard.’” He was like, “What the fuck?” I was like, “I’m not telling anyone. Just mock it up.” He mocked it up, but we realized that maybe it was a bit much to have six titles in one.

no that’s not what she means. She isn’t saying that the album was just ONE of those, she means that the album is ALL of those but psycho and lifeguard are two separate entities and not one title. It’s not Psycho Lifeguard it’s Psycho and Lifeguard

I was reading this old British Vogue interview bit with Lana from October 2011 where she was asked about Video Games being used in many fashion shows and look what she said:

This was the very first mention of "Summertime Sadness" but as a 'description', she thinks that Video Games embodies summertime sadness. That's a really awesome connection between these! I loved her answer!

Actually the very first mention of summertime sadness was august 5/6 2011! When Lana tweeted:

Kiss Me Hard Before You Go - Summertime Sadness.

I Just Wanted You To Know - That baby You The Best.

and on the same month - Aug 2011 (i forgot what date exactly) she changed one of the tags for Video Games mv to “SUMMERTIME SADNESS”

Random but I just realized the LFL trailer was filmed at Lana's home :really:

Omg, this is a such a cool find!

This reminded me how I had always loved the story about that Hollywood sign which the director of the trailer, Constellation Jones (he also directed White Dress) talked about:

"The hardest part of this whole video was the Hollywood sign. We wanted a night shot of the Hollywood sign as it looked, all lit up in the 1950s. Of course, the sign is not lit up anymore. So I and a few friends built the sign and the mountain out of papier-mâché, foam, chicken wire, and old school Hollywood-style model-making in my garage. The neighbors thought I had lost my mind when they saw me knee deep in papier-mâché. Blink and you will miss it, but all of that from the tower to the sign to the bushes and trees were all made by hand. Probably would have been so much easier to have someone build it in 3D, but it was so much fun playing in mud, glue, and paint for three days."

After reading Lolita for the past week, I never realized how much Nabokov/ Lolita heavily influenced Lana until recently :oprah3: With each page, I see glimpses of Lana's songwriting style in Nabokov's eloquent, vivid, and beyond beautiful writing style. I also never realized how much she borrowed certain phrases and aspects from Lolita and incorporated them into her own work. With the more obvious references like Lolita (BTD song) and 1949, I never realized that Carmen was inspired off of the fictional "Little Carmen" song mentioned in the book. She also seemingly borrowed the phrase "glimmering darling" from Lolita as well :really: I also can't forget Lana singing about many other motifs mentioned in Lolita, such as road trips, older men, Americana, white socks, and being in that Pontiac from July to July (despite the month actually being May in the book :eek4:). Anyways, I'm absolutely sure that I'll find the source of more references that Lana has made as I continue reading :ma:
