I agree. that's literally what my original post said. that conservatives shouldn't focus on that because it is so small, if even existing, that it doesn't really matter to the real discussion. Did you read my post that you are quoting?

yes, and for the most part, i understand and agree with what you said, i just find it odd that you appeared to have implied that some women are getting abortions out of selfishness, which i found to be inaccurate and ignorant of how women approach abortion, and i see that i probably went overboard with my responses, and i apologize for that, i should know better, but i can't help but feel bothered by it, since our rights could be at risk, and that matters, especially if donald trump wins, and it allcomes back to the fact that many people genuinely do hold strong and even extreme beliefs about abortion, and in general, women, and i just simply didn't agree or quite understand with with you initially said, and i probably had no reason to reply and go back-and-forth with you about it multiple times like i did, and for that, i am sorry

at the end of the day, i'm sure we're mostly on the same page about everything, and that's probably what we should focus on, instead of what we might disagree on, especially on such specific, and small things

Anyways now that the buzz from my pitcher of vodka cranberries is wearing off, I will say, I am by no means a staunch supporter of this current administration - in fact, I agreed with many critics in the past on matters such as the Afghanistan withdrawal, sending huge amounts of money to Iran (by unfreezing assets), and their lack of a true plan for the future of healthcare.

But when my absentee ballot finally arrives (my home state sends them only 29 days before the election), I will be voting for Harris, because I believe all of the above is less disastrous than a second Trump Presidency - one where he does not have to worry about re-election.

I don't even necessarily consider myself a Democrat - I strongly believe that big government is not always the answer, and that some level of privatization is beneficial.

But I am unmoving on issues such as abortion, gay, trans rights and other liberties for minorities. That is not an area where I ever want to have to "debate" anyone on, and I won't apologize for my strong beliefs on those matters - and again, while a Harris/Walz admin won't be perfect, it is by FAR the better viable option.

actually I owe @urgirl an apology, bc her and I have agreed on/had positive dialogue on some issues (like Afghanistan, altho for legal/moral reasons not on the execution of a president, and on the slippery slope of twitter bannings) - I just got really riled up bc, of the vodka like I made clear, I am not willing to have a dialogue/debate on certain rights 💙🩷

Well, I don’t think abortion is a moral issue. It’s a healthcare issue. And that’s fundamentally the division that exists between people who are in support of abortion being a right versus abortion not being a right. So, clearly, there’s not middle ground at the baseline level.

I kind of think it's a moral question, but what's more important is the moral question of whether women should be forced to have an unwanted child that will affect the rest of their lives. I think that weighs much more than ending the life of a still unborn clump of cells without real consciousness.

I also think that what they call "pro-life" is actually misogyny in disguise. Conservative Christians still see women as sinful and evil, who should atone for their "sins". The Catholic Church has always denied women many important offices. It is hard to believe that such backward views are still held today.

Well said, I completely agree with this!

the dope part about the Breakfast Club interview with Dr. Stein and Professor Ware is that Rye, counter to what she wanted, made people of color see the Green Party as a viable option for future elections. and what baffles me is that Rye is never this way with Republicans - hardened racists - who come onto the show. but the Greens have platforms and demands for people of color that Democrats would be too scared to make.

Another potential assassination attempt on Donald Trump occurred while he was at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida. Gunshots were fired from an AK-style rifle in his vicinity, but he is safe and unharmed.

Probably staged. Who cares. The party that wants machine guns to be readily available gets no sympathy from me. Espc since Fl has some of the most lax gun laws.

it appears that the "assassin" was a lunatic who wanted people to fight for Ukraine.

LMFAO if he was bold enough to try to kill a President, he should have sent his ass there to fight instead.
