Rehashing old drama but yeah I think that’s literally just it. Everyone I know from Louisiana is very proud to be from Louisiana and is pretty specific about being Louisianan and not just southern. Think he just had tunnel vision and latched in on that, he barely gave a second thought to the rest of the comment I think.
