Liam Payne, former member of One Direction, dies at 31

Liam Payne, singer best known for being a former member of boy band One Direction, has passed away at the age of 31. 

News outlets report that the singer fell to his death from a balcony on the third floor of the CasaSur hotel in Palermo, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He had been visiting Argentina for the past two weeks with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy who returned home solo earlier this week. Police first arrived to the scene after the hotel called with reports of "an aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol." Witnesses state Liam had been acting erratically in the lobby prior to his fall, apparently smashing his laptop before having to be carried back to his room. S.A.M.E confirmed he succumbed to his injuries following the fall. It is unknown if his fall was accidental or intentional. He had previously been open about his struggles with alcoholism and suicidal thoughts, and last year he shared that he had completed over 100 days of sobriety to IFL TV. He leaves behind his 7-year-old son, Bear, whom he had with ex Cheryl Cole in 2017.
