Pico: Of course ,your last album was such a landmark album in your career but lots of stuff has happened since. You got married and moved to the Louisiana swamps , right?

Lana: “The Louisiana swamps, oh I don’t know if I’d call my property a swamp *She giggles* But yes, I did get married and me and my husband bought a house on a huge property out in the swamps. I feel very close to nature here and the inspiration for my new album is just everywhere you look. It’s nice to get away from the busy city.”

Pico: Oh I love that , nature can be such an inspiration, it's like art, timeless and also a place to feel free and rest. I noticed some of your songs seem to be inspired by that like your song Yosemite, named after the national park off the same name, released in 2021 which is about relationships withstanding the test of time. This song is really special, Almost like a spell , I love that the national park had such an impact on you.

Lana: I’m so glad you love it! I’ll never forget the first time I went to Yosemite. Walking the trails, seeing the beautiful trees, and the way the sunlight came down through the trees, it was almost like I was in another world.

Pico: Your song Yosemite is also making me think about your upcoming album The Right Person Will Stay. The title reminds me alot of the theme of Yosemite. And also nature being an inspiration for your upcoming album .

Lana: *She nodded, taking another hit of her vape.* You know, that’s a really great connection, sweetie. My new album was definitely inspired by nature, and by my experiences with finding the right person and all the relationships that didn't work out because of it.

Pico: I think that's going to speak to alot of people. You also announced the first single Henry, Come On , coming out really soon. Based on the very acoustic but ethereal snippet you shared, that song seems to be about a relationship that didn't work out. Can you tell us a bit more about the song?

Lana: Sure, sweetie. The song is about this guy I had a thing with. He was really good for me in a lot of ways, but there was always just something missing, you know? We tried to make it work, but in the end we both realized that we weren’t each other’s forever person.

Pico: Oh man, it can be such a heartbreaking thing but sometimes it is better to let go and move on...
You worked with Luke on this upcoming song , a new producer right?

Lana: *She nods* Yeah, sweetie, Luke actually produced the song along with me. He has a really fresh take on things from the usual producers I work with. He brings new sounds and new energy into the studio.

Pico: How would you describe the new sound and energy?  You mentioned the album being country and southern gothic in the past, especially southern gothic sounds like something new in your music.

Lana: *Lana's eyes sparkled* I think you're right on the money, sweetie. This album is definitely Southern Gothic and country music. I love adding those influences into my music, it just feels like home to me.

Pico: That's beautiful Lana, I think you played a bit with country in the past , Video Games , Ride , Wild At Heart , all great songs. Would you say some songs of yours in the past had a Southern Gothic vibe ?

Lana: *She smiled at the mention of those songs.* I’m glad you like them, sweetie. And yes, I’d say a few of my songs had a Southern Gothic vibe. Black Beauty from Ultraviolence, and I think The Blackest Day from Honeymoon is another example.

Pico: Oh wow , those songs are career highlights!! I can't wait to see how these vibes and influences are worked into the album. Soon we gonna hear a first glimpse of it, Henry!! Really exciting !!

Pico: The Henry, Come On single cover looks stunning. I can't wait for more visuals, I am curious what you have in mind for the album.You mentioned the Louisianan nature as one inspiration !!

Lana: *She smiled, clearly excited about the creative direction of her upcoming album.* You know, sweetie, the visuals for this album are really gonna play into the Southern Gothic vibe. Think lots of dark, eerie landscapes and a bit of a retro feel. And yes, the Louisiana nature has really been a big inspiration for me. Expect lots of beautiful, creepy scenery in the music videos.

Pico: Wow I didn't expect to hear that after the bright and light single cover

Lana: *She laughs softly, clearly having fun with the direction of her new music.* Well, you never know with me, sweetie, I like keeping things interesting. But I will say, the single cover is a bit deceptive. Don't expect the album as a whole to be quite so bright and light.

Pico: Lana, I am also very curious about the album process. You first announced it as a pure country album titled Lasso more than a year ago and then you took an energetic break and now it's coming out, titled The Right Person Will Stay.  I would like to know more about the process if that is okay for you. Did you change alot about the album?

Lana: *She leans back in her chair, reflecting on the album process.* Well, sweetie, it definitely has been a bit of a journey. I originally started out with the idea of making a pure country album, but I realized that it just wasn’t feeling right to me. So I took a step back and really rethought my approach.

*She pauses, taking another hit of her vape before continuing.* I came up with the title and the new direction, and everything just started to fall into place. It was a bit of a change, but I think it was the right decision for this album.

Pico: It seems like you are now very happy with how the album turned out!!! That's the most important thing. I have a few more questions Lana. Besides Henry you haven't teased any other song yet from the new album. To build a bit excitement would you like to tease another song?  Maybe your favorite from the entire album? Only if you would like to do that of course.

Lana: *She ponders for a bit, trying to decide which song to tease.* Well, that's a bit of a tough one, sweetie. But if I had to pick one, I'd say, maybe… “Devil’s Night”. I really like how it came together. It’s a bit darker and more intense compared to some of the other songs, but it fits really well into the overall mood of the album.

Pico: The title is very intriguing!! Would you like to describe it?

Lana: *She takes a deep breath before launching into a description of the song.* “Devil’s Night” is really something special, sweetie. It has this dark and brooding atmosphere, and the production just feels like it’s straight out of a horror movie.

*She takes a moment to gather her thoughts.* I wanted to create something that really captured the feeling of being up all night, surrounded by the shadows and the unknown. The lyrics are really important for that too, but I think the music really brings it all together.

Pico: Not gonna lie this sounds like a career highlight!! I am shaking!!
You gonna hate me for the next question but you teased Roses Bloom For You, an outtake from Lust For Life, in the last months and also there was that intro song at your Fenway Show. Any chances those are part of the new album?

Lana: *She lets out a soft laugh, clearly amused.* Well, darling, I can’t blame you for asking! But I’m afraid to say those songs aren’t on the new album.

*She takes a moment to reflect.* While I still really like “Roses Bloom For You”, it just didn’t quite fit with the new direction I took for this album. But who knows, maybe I’ll revisit it in the future. And the Fenway park intro, that was just something special for that show.

Pico: Oh man what a bummer. Honestly Lana you should release Roses Bloom For You as a standalone then , I think it could fit so well with the album and era. And the intro sounded so stunning ugh.

Lana: *She smiles, clearly feeling your enthusiasm.* I totally see where you’re coming from. “Roses Bloom For You” really is special. Maybe I’ll reconsider releasing it standalone, we’ll see. As for the Fenway Park intro, I’m glad you liked it. It was a fun little taste for the fans.

Pico: Speaking of shows , you are performing at Stagecoach in 4 weeks with a special country set. How cool is that?

Lana: *She grins widely, her eyes sparkling with excitement.* Oh, sweetie, it is so cool. I’m really looking forward to performing at Stagecoach. I always love being able to connect with the audience and show them something special.

Lana: *She laughs heartily, clearly amused by the idea.* Oh, sweetie, don't get me in trouble with PETA now! Although I have to admit, the idea of riding into Stagecoach on a tractor does have a certain charm to it. It just screams Lana Del Rey, doesn't it?

Lana: *She giggles at the thought.* You know me too well, sweetie. I can almost hear the engine revving as I enter the stage. Maybe I should start a petition for tractor entrance at all my future shows!

Lana: *She gives you a mischievous grin, clearly living for the idea.* Oh, you bet I could pull it off, darling. I mean, who else can rock a tractor better than Lana Del Rey? It would be iconic!

Pico: So iconic, but do you have a special entrance planned for Stagecoach? Or guests?

Lana: *She leans forward, clearly eager to share her plans for Stagecoach.* Well, sweetie, I do have a few surprises up my sleeve! First of all, I'm planning on having some very special guests join me on stage. I can't reveal who they are just yet, but trust me, you're going to love it.
As for the entrance, I'm still working on it. I want it to be something truly memorable, something that will leave the audience in awe.

You’re still believing in May 21 as the release date?  Maybe it won’t be released long after that (my bets are on July), but no way we’re getting that album on that day. No way. Impossible.  
again, thank goodness for Stagecoach being set in stone to “hurry up” this era’s beginning. Otherwise, I don’t know how long that limbo of waiting could have lasted.

Unlike Ocean Blvd, I think the preorder will be with the second single. I know there is not a unique pattern when it comes to preorder and singles, but it’s often the case with many artists. Now as to when this is gonna be, beats me. Could we be lucky enough that the second single will be out around Stagecoach? Even though Henry will be still “newly released”?

No, I really don't believe that it will drop in May. We're lucky if we get Henry by May 21st at this point.

Maybe 1 or 2 tracks in the album might have that "2 in 1" treatment à la Lorde's Hard feelings/Loveless or those Justin Timberlake's songs back inthe day when they love making 2 songs in 1 track and they will be looong as hell (5 - 7 minutes length), and let's not forget she can make 10 minute track like Venice Bitch so... yeah, let's just keep delulu that we'll have at least 1 or 2 6+ min tracks and all of the songs will be longer than 4 minutes lol

i kinda miss the 90s and early 2000s where everything was so clear and standardised. Album announcement: boom. First single: boom, then mv. Second single and mv: boom. Third single: boom.
 

You'd even know that the first single would be BIG, then the second a little more light, then a ballad. Now it's all all over the place. Folks can tease you and resurface a year later to tease you again. And by folks, i mean, lana

I mean...did anyone expect "Henry" to be a long song? Because that's how Pantene described it. If this is any indication of the overall slow-burning style of the album, hopefully we're getting several long tracks!

I've been listening to Yosemite and understood, that even though she's been teasing Henry for so long, I'm still exited for this song, especially keeping in mind that it wasn't leaked and it's a long song and we know that Lana knows how to make amazing bridges and outros
