Talking about "golden grill" being a recurring thing in Lana's songs, I had an idea for the past two weeks that's been really eating at my curiosity.

I'm not the only one who isn't taking it literal, right? Like...

More like, just talking about her guy's grin and how radiant it is? Grill's slang for actual teeth, too, right? I think I listened to enough Nelly and 50 Cent during my childhood. I'm pretty sure I caught the drift with getting knocked in the grill.

But no, really, I hope I am not the only one who hopesthinks she's just being slangtastically poetic as always.

I hope it's not literal because wearing grills is tacky  :pls:

 

But lanalysis wise it sort of makes "sense", golden grills is a K-thing, so when she wore one gold/diamond tooth it was honoring K just like how the two tears were in solidarity of the double homicide. (in my mind at least)

 

 

And the toe ring is a symbol of being a recovering alcoholic  :troll:

well she did wear a golden tooth and a blinged out tooth herself so i think it's likely she means an actual grill. "with your golden grill" doesn't sound like a smile or just his mouth to me

Makes sense! I could just never imagine Lana with someone wearing a grill, let alone kissing them; I've heard it usually ends up getting very funky. :derpna2:

Anyone else feel like it would be a good idea to compile all of her references to Nabokov's Lolita somewhere? :D

I seem to find more than just the obvious -- like Put Me In A Movie has that whole Quilty thing going on... :creep:

 

This might be reaching (because a lot of it is thematic, after all) but I still think it'd be a cute project. :P
